Only the Wii U can play Wii U games. Although the Wii U console can read any disc, including Wii games, the Wii console can only read Wii games.

My kids were disappointed when their Wii reached the end of its life; while it wasn't completely dead, the disk motor was becoming increasingly noisy, and I warned them that it wouldn't be long before it died. I decided to replace it because we occasionally play Wii games as a family. This item had a lot of positive feedback, so I ordered it. It came in a flash. Unfortunately, the unit would not read any Wii game disks, as stated in the title. I experimented with five of them- All of which are compatible with the Wii's "almost-dead" system. and no one knew who they were. Is it true that the seller did not test these before sending them out? How can you overlook a refurbished item's MAIN function? I'm stunned that this could be considered acceptable. br>br>I'm going to give this one star and send it back. I'm having Amazon replace the item, and if the new one works, I'll update this review.
Let's face it, we're all lying to ourselves. It's difficult not to be concerned when ordering refurbished items, especially on Amazon. br>br>I received my first Wii as a Christmas gift in 2008, and I played it almost every day for hours (way too much lol). I'm getting ready to move and began packing my belongings when I came across my old Wii tucked away in a box. When I plugged it in, I discovered that it had been bricked. I was devastated and spent hours contacting every store in my town to see if they could repair it; however, they wanted to charge me $80 for repair, while refurbished ones from Gamestop were around $70. I then spent hours scouring Amazon for a good deal and came across "Voomwa" as a seller. All of the other refurbished Wiis I looked at had mixed reviews, but this seller stood out. To be honest, I'm always a little hesitant when it comes to purchasing items from Amazon, especially refurbished items, because you never know where they come from or what you'll get. I decided to go with the "Replacement White Nintendo Wii Console - White" option. I ordered the Wii on a Friday and the package was supposed to arrive on a Monday (but it arrived on a Sunday, which was unusual, but I was ecstatic), but I received "No Cables Or Accessories (Renewed)" from Voomwa, despite the fact that all of my AV and power cables were still in good condition. It didn't come in its original packaging (which I didn't expect), but the Wii has no scuffs, dents, scratches, or other flaws. I plugged it in and turned it on, and lo and behold, a startup screen appeared. The SD card reader, CD reader, and Gamecube controller sockets all worked, as did all of the other buttons and ports. This item not only came in a paper envelope (yes, really great packaging *cough*), but it also didn't work. br>I bought this for my handicapped brother who lives with me and needed a replacement for his broken one. What a disappointment, not only for me but also for him, that the product was a complete failure. He was excited to be able to play with something new. I should've realized what I was getting myself into. BUY THIS ITEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.
When my Wii died, I discovered these on Amazon, and they "renew" my Atari. & In any case, I ordered it and received it. I was able to connect it to the internet. To continue, the screen instructs you to press the A button on the remote. It didn't happen because of what I did. Remotes, batteries, cables, and disks were all tried, but the screen would not move. Everything was undone, packed, and the store was contacted; you will be responsible for return shipping. huh. It is ineffective. $11. For nothing, 90. Do they not test these before selling them, as others have stated? I'm sure some have worked, but this one did not. We don't have any other options, so send it back and we'll send you another at no cost to you. Buyer beware, because I wasn't one of them.
However, it was unable to read a disc. I had to return it because something was obstructing the opening. I'm disappointed because I used to enjoy playing Wii. Turning on my Wii and getting the "Unable to read disc" error message on every game I tried was heartbreaking. I ordered a new one after failing to fix the first, only to have the same issue. I'm very disappointed because this Wii won't play any of my games. I just got this new Wii twenty minutes ago, and I'm already putting it back in the box to return it. If you're going to sell consoles, make sure they're working consoles.
This was a perfect roll of the dice. My Wii's laser was broken, but the rest of the system worked fine, so this refurb console only option (no cables or remotes) was an excellent value. The console was well-protected and in excellent working order when it arrived. Above all, it worked, and I was able to transfer all of the game data from the original Wii, ensuring that neither my children nor I lost any game progress. I rarely write reviews, but this was such a great experience that I felt compelled to do so. Thank you very much!.
My first Wii gaming system broke down about a year ago. The games and Wii Fit products were both sorely missed. I decided to get a new console, which is fantastic. All of the games are fully functional, just as they were on the original. This is a purchase I will not regret. I'm glad the Wii is back up and running for me and the grandkids. Thank you a lot.
