Questions & Answers

Do the games come with it?

No, it does not include games; I purchased some for my son as a Christmas present.

Is this the version that is available in the United States?

It appears that it is contingent on the merchant from whom you purchase. We recently purchased a unit from "Adler Deals" that was not intended for use in North America. When we called Nintendo to confirm, they said that if we had any warranty issues, we'd have to go through the Middle East/South Asia Nintendo and ship it to them internationally. Because merchants are using this listing to sell international units, the only way to tell if you're getting a North American copy is to inquire about the serial's first two characters. If they respond with "QW," it's North American. For South Asia/Middle East, we received a "QS" version.br>br>Ask before buying. Merchants who "don't know" will send you a unit with warranty issues that will be extremely difficult to resolve.

Is the artwork on the front of the book etched, painted, or a sticker? The pokemon black ds lite had been etched on it. ?

It is embellished with paint. Paint has been applied to all 3DS models. Anyone who claims otherwise is either lying or is misinformed. I have a total of seven in various styles.

Is this item going to be restocked, and if so, when?

There is no such thing as a North American System
3/5

When the box didn't match the one in the listing, I was perplexed. After doing some research, I discovered that the system I received is NOT from North America. That is something I wish I had known, and I believe it should have been mentioned in the description. According to what I've read, if there are any problems, I'll have to ship it internationally. I'll take it to a game system repair shop to ensure it's in working order. I'm thinking about returning it even then. If I don't, I'll wait until I've used it for a while before updating my review. For the time being, I'll give it three stars. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The system is for Singapore, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, and the 3DS is region locked, so it won't play the games I already have for the North American region. Because your system's origin is currently unknown, it should be stated in the description. This is being returned to you. My star rating has been reduced to one.

You are purchasing at your own risk
3/5

Unfortunately, I ran into the same issue as another buyer, in that I am unable to use this system because it is from another region. Amazon was gracious enough to refund my money and offer an apology. Please be aware that you may not be able to obtain a system from North America. Later on, I'll give you an update. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I received my refund and spent it on a new Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition.

NOT THE VERSION FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA OR IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE! I didn't even open the box once I realized it was the Arabic version; it's in the details, but it's buried deep enough that you don't notice it
3/5

I read that it works fine with English versions of the games, but that if there are warranty issues, you must send it to the Middle East for service, which I'm not about to do, so I returned it and we'll be going to Gamestop to get the guaranteed US version.

FRAUDULENT is a word that describes someone who is deceitful in some way Not a unit from the United States of America
3/5

I purchased this device to replace my daughter's Nintendo 3DS. The description implied that the unit was from the United States. The unit was region-locked to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Malaysia, and the box clearly states that it will only play games from those regions. The image in the product description does not correspond to the box. br>br>EDITbr>After much searching, the unit can be set up to play US games by selecting the region during the profile setup process and then transferring the save games. The listing is still being fulfilled fraudulently - If you're trying to sell non-permanent non-permanent non-permanent non Units from the United States, speak up!.

There is no such thing as a NA system
4/5

The system arrived brand new, but there was a purple sticker on it, which I noticed. When I peeled back the sticker, I discovered it was for Suadia Arabia and Singapore, just like so many other reviews. However, after doing some research, I discovered that it's a North American system that was repackaged for those countries because they didn't have systems made specifically for them at the time (they might now, I'm not sure, these systems are 3 years old). With that said, I can confirm that it supports North American games. It does have a QS serial number, which could be an issue if something goes wrong and I have to send it in, but I'm not worried about that.

I couldn't be more pleased
5/5

I was terrified to buy after reading negative reviews, and there were so many sellers and reviews about receiving damaged used systems that I was afraid and almost didn't buy it. I'm glad I went ahead and bought it anyway, taking a risk and taking a chance. This is obviously brand new, has never been used, and arrived with a charge the next day so I could use it right away. It came in a nice package. I'M VERY EXCITED! I made the mistake of reading before purchasing. The charger isn't included, but I knew that going in because I did my homework and read everything first. It's not the seller's fault; Nintendo operates in this manner. I had planned ahead of time and purchased a charger to go along with it. I was even able to buy this using both my birthday and Christmas gift cards. For me, it's a win-win situation all the way around.

Everything is in order
4/5

However, foreign consoles should be avoided. After almost three years without a 3DS console, I was eager to get my hands on one, and when I discovered that Amazon had the Solgaleo, I jumped at the chance. I couldn't resist buying the Lunala special edition XL. These consoles are currently being sold for around $250-$300 by a number of sellers. $350, and I was extremely fortunate to find this one in new condition for $220. The system plays and functions flawlessly, and it is capable of playing North American games without issue. However, there is something that everyone should be aware of. br>br> The console I received was not made in the United States. The console was marked as being from Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates on the box. You can rest assured that this will have no effect on your gameplay or your Nintendo ID. I tested my copy of Pokémon Sun, and it works perfectly; I had to call Nintendo the day I got it to have them link my ID to this new device, despite the fact that they said it was a foreign device. It's already a huge relief to be able to play my games and connect my ID to the console. When looking up Nintendo's regions, you'll notice that the United States, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia are all grouped together, which is why you can play American games on a foreign console. br>br>The only issue here is that if you need to send your console in for repairs or warranty claims, I've heard that Nintendo America won't do it for you, so you'll have to send it to Nintendo UAE. I'm not concerned about this because I've never had a problem with a 3DS and have never had to file a warranty claim. I'm crossing my fingers that I won't be required to do so. br>br>The only reason I gave this review four stars instead of five is because it appears to be a phony listing to me. What I mean is that if you live in the United States, you'd normally expect to buy a North American console, so Amazon's decision is a bit of a letdown. But, in any case, the system works flawlessly, and I have no complaints other than the ones I've listed. If you're looking for a New 3DS XL at a reasonable price, especially a discontinued and hard to find special edition version, and don't mind that it's a foreign console, I say go for it.

Be cautious when purchasing
3/5

The home button and charging port were smashed, rendering the game unplayable due to the lack of a charging port and the fact that the box it was in was also smashed.
