This is a limited-time offer, so take advantage of it now. In 2018, the Nintendo 2DS could be the best value in handheld gaming history. For $80, you get a reliable device that can play a large number of 3DS and DS games. It's a Zelda edition, after all. This green Zelda Ocarina of Time (Link) edition was released on Black Friday 2017 (see Nintendo's press release from November 1, 2017). Nintendo no longer lists this model on their website, so if you want one, you'll have to act quickly before it becomes a collector's item and the price skyrockets. br>br> I have a New 3DSXL as well as this 2DS Link edition. While I adore the New 3DSXL, something about this 2DS feels just right. Nintendo initially targeted the 2DS at younger children in order to allay parental concerns about the 3DS's 3D capabilities. However, it appears that this device has a sizable adult following; it isn't just for kids. In my opinion, the 2DS is a far more comfortable handheld for long periods of gaming - The 3DS is a little too small for me. The analog stick on the 2DS is identical to the one on my New 3DSXL, and the d-pad on the 3DS is identical to the one on my New 3DSXL. When pressing the pad and ABXY buttons, the feel isn't as crisp, but it's still acceptable. There's probably some money to be saved there. br>br> Coming from a 3DSXL, I was worried about the smaller screen. But, to be honest, I haven't found the screens on the 2DS to be a problem; in fact, they appear to be a little crisper. The upper screen resolution of 400x240 pixels is shared by the 3DSXL, 2DSXL, and 2DS. Because the 2DS has a smaller screen, the smaller pixels make a game look crisper, whereas the 3DSXL appears stretched out or blurry. Don't get me wrong: having a large 3DSXL screen is great, but the 2DS screens are just as good. The upper and lower levels are both bright and have excellent viewing angles. br>br> Even though the 2DS has a slower processor than the New 3DSXL and 2DSXL, you won't notice it while playing. The application loading appears to be the only performance issue. As a result, it takes a little longer to start a game or access the eShop. br>br> Because the stereo speakers on my new 3DSXL produce amazing sound, I was worried that the mono speaker on this 2DS would produce terrible sound. That is not the case. Although the single speaker does not have the surround sound of the more expensive DSs, it sounds great and is loud enough. If you prefer stereo sound, simply use headphones. that is a stereo signal br>br> This 2DS Link edition looks fantastic, is one-of-a-kind, and will almost certainly become a collector's item. You can't go wrong with this, especially as the 3DS family enters its final years. You'll be able to play a major role in the backfield. For years to come, there will be a large catalog of games. The eShop is brimming with great indie games, and Nintendo continues to add new titles every month. br>br> Just in case you didn't know - In my photos, you can see my 2DS in a hardshell case that I chose and recommend. .
I'm glad I double-checked it before wrapping it up for my kids' birthday present. The box appeared to have been opened, but I assumed this was to add the AC but adapter. However, the term "used" is a misnomer. It had some Texas data on it from some dude. The screen has a small scratch. It wasn't so bad that I decided to come back. However, it would have been preferable to pay the used price. I cannot recommend this vendor; instead, I will shop at Target next time.
I bought two of these, one for myself and the other for my four-year-old son, and we both enjoy them. Because Nintendo no longer makes this system and it was sold by a third party rather than Amazon, I wasn't sure if it was a new sealed system or a previously opened system when I bought it (I was fine with either). Both systems were brand new, which surprised me. Everything is still in its original packaging and is in a sealed box. The system itself is long-lasting, responsive, and has a user interface that is fairly appealing. I have a Switch as well, but I haven't played it in a while due to a lack of games. With this system, however, this is not the case. There is a large selection of games to choose from. I'd never trust my child with my switch (at least not yet), but this system has handled him admirably; he's dropped it several times and slept on top of it once. There is no evidence of abuse in their system. It has no dents, scratches, or cracks. It includes a fantastic game. (My 4-year-old doesn't get it. ) If you've ever played the n64 version, it's basically the same thing with a few tweaks. Nintendo makes good use of the second screen. It's a lot easier to select items and navigate menus now. In addition, they improved the camera and targeting control schemes. br>br>In conclusion:br>- I prefer it to my Switch because it can withstand the abuse that small children will inflict on it, and it costs $90 (including the game it comes with) vs. $120 for the Switch. The switch will cost you $300.
- The $90 spent was well spent.
For $80, you can't go wrong with this package. Ocarina of Time is one of my all-time favorite games, and the 2DS hardware makes it even more enjoyable to play.
I've tried every 3DS model, both old and new, and they're all nice, but they're all very uncomfortable, to the point where I get cramps and my hands hurt, which the 2DS solved! It's incredibly comfortable; you can play until the battery dies without experiencing any discomfort! br>br>Because the 2DS can play all 3DS games, it has a total of 100 titles to choose from! This is the way to go if you want a comfortable DS.
The console is a perfect shade of link green, with browns and yellow accenting the system's buttons and back. When I turned on the computer, Ocarina of Time was already installed and ready to play. This is the ideal console for anyone looking to dive into Nintendo's vast game library, and it comes pre-loaded with one of the best games of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The Ocarina of Time. br>The 2ds is noticeably smaller than the xl's, but I've spent hours on it, so it's really a matter of personal preference. It's fantastic, and it'll appeal to any Zelda fan.
I bought this as a Christmas present for my child, but it doesn't always work; the control buttons/joystick don't always work, and it freezes. You can play for a few minutes before realizing that nothing is working. The ds will only work for a few minutes after you turn the power off and on again, and then it will repeat the process. My child threw away the box in which it came, so I can't return it. I've had no problems with other Amazon sellers' Nintendo 2 DS systems, and this seller's product is the only one that I've had a problem with, so I'll probably buy locally rather than online next time.
