Questions & Answers

Is this a two-piece protector or a one-piece protector?

2 pieces. There's one for each side of the device, and it's incredibly simple to put on and remove. It'll also stay put, and it's a perfect fit!

Does anyone know if this will work with the new 3DSXL that will be released in February? (Did you get the one with Majora's Mask?) ?

Because some of the buttons are in different places on the current 3DS XL, I believe we figured out it wouldn't work.

Is this a hard case or a soft case?

It's a pliable case (it flexes).

Does the cover sit higher than the game on the DS3 XL? I've had issues with my games being pushed and popping out, and I've already lost one. ?

The cover is higher, but it doesn't really cover the area where you insert your game, so I don't think it'll help you much. If you want to protect the appearance of your 3DS XL, it's well worth the money.

Style and Form
4/5

Some safeguards. You have the final say. As you'd expect from a Nintendo-licensed product, you'll get both quality and some protection. br>Included in the package are two 90-degree angle pieces. 95% clear Polyurethane Pieces consisting of a Top sleeve and a Bottom that are both form fitted for 3DS XL. The plastic is flexible and soft, but durable enough to absorb minor impact shocks, as previously stated. Unlike other cases, this one is made of a soft, pliable plastic. Because the coverage of both pieces is difficult to determine from the pictures, I'll do my best to describe it to the best of my ability. After that, I'll explain why this is preferable to a full hard case shell. (I'm not sure if this fits the "New 3DS") Yes, if the dimensions are the same as the original 3DS. If not, then no.

- Piece at the top- (Sleeve)br>The sleeve piece slides on and off with ease, and the upper screen fits perfectly in the sleeve's gap. Except for the open gap where the 3D slider is, the sleeve fully protects the top screen sides. Although the side on the other side overlaps slightly, it does not obstruct the device's opening or closing and appears completely flush. The top sleeve comes to an end before the hinge (as seen in the fourth photo). It ends slightly before the visible hinge line on a closed 3DS, and Nintendo3DS XL is etched into the plastic in the bottom left corner.

- Piece at the bottom Botbr>Like the top sleeve, the bot piece is form-fitted to the bottom portion of the 3DS XL and slides on easily. The two square holes on the back of the 3DS and the front corner overlapping corner edges keep this Bot part in place. There are a few areas where they are required: Volume slider, vents, audio port, power/charging light indicator, SD Card access/stylus, and WiFi on/off slider are all included. The Bot traces around the bottom of the L on the 3DS's back side. br>br>Pros: R buttons; cartridge insert port. br>br>Cons: R buttons; cartridge insert port. br>br>
- Flexible plastics make it easy to put on and take off both the top and bottom. br>- Adaptability - Top and Bottom are two completely different pieces. I used a Circle Pad Pro with the top sleeve. I loved it so much that I added the bottom half for other games. (FYI: The CPP will not accept the bottom piece)br>- 90-degree opalescent opalescent opalescent opalescent o 95% clarity, the sleeves have a slight whitish hue to them in the light adding reflective quality as well.
- The plastic is smooth, but it provides enough traction and grip to accommodate even adult hands.
- showcasing your OEM casebr>br>contrary to popular beliefbr>br> br>Transparency is a term used to describe the ability of something to be seen for what it is. The lower the transparency, the dirtier the plastic becomes; for me, dirty plastic turns from white to slightly yellowish. Of course, the sleeves can be removed and cleaned with dish soap and water, so this isn't a problem. Also, unlike some of the hard cases, it is not completely transparent. br>There is no protection at all for the hinges - This does not provide the same level of protection for the 3DS XL's hinges as some full hard cases. I've dropped my Nintendo 3DS three times while it was open (8 times in total), so I'm used to it. So far, no visible damage has resulted from the ten inch drop onto the carpet. As it tumbled to the ground, the entire case appears to be flexible and sturdy enough to disperse some of the impact. It's a thing because my NDS died due to broken hinges. However, it was the result of six years of continuous use and a few drops. Because your OEM case is scratched up or you don't care, you constantly change it out for different hard case designs. br>br>I bought this for the CPP and versatility, which far outweighed the disadvantages.

For the 3dsXL, this is a great protector, but I wish there were more color options
4/5

It's a good protector because it's a mix of hard plastic and soft rubber. It has a pleasant feel to it and flexes just enough to make installation simple. However, you are limited in your ability to flex it. It's difficult to put into words, but it's a good mix of stiff and soft. It fits the 3dsXL perfectly and adds no extra bulk. It doesn't obstruct the SD card slot or the cameras in any way, and there's even room for the power/charging indicator light. It's not tacky enough to grab on your clothes, so you can slide it in and out of your pocket fine, and this is a good case protector for traveling. I'd still prefer to use the Dreamgear Comfort Grip if I was going to play for more than a few hours, but that thing is so bulky that I leave this protector on most of the time. The most sensitive spot on the exterior of the 3dsXL that you don't want to take any damage is the hinge area, which is why I docked one star. Overall, I'm satisfied because it protects my 3dsXL from scratches and fingerprints. br>br>My main gripe is with the color scheme. This clear case looks horrid and sickly on the black/black 3dsXL because it's an adult color and matches the rest of my electronics; on the black/black color, the clear case looks horrid and sickly. I recommend getting this clear case only if your outer case has artwork on it, such as the Zelda edition 3dsXL; it doesn't look good on solid-colored cases. consoles in various colors I won't waste money on another one because mine is fine, but if I had to do it all over again, I would choose the blue or red case protectors. I'd get a solid black Duraflex protector if they made one in the future, but until then, I'm fine. If the only 3dsXLs on sale on the day I bought mine were pink or some other hideous color, I would have gotten the blue or red case protector just to cover it up.

It's a fantastic product that does exactly what it says on the tin
4/5

This product was the one with the highest review average and the most reviews, so I decided to purchase it. Let's just say that this item will protect the 3DS XL from scratches, at least to a certain extent. If you're not careful, there are four openings on the 3DS that can be scratched, particularly where the memory card and stylus are located. br>br>I purchased this item to protect my brand new Persona 3DS XL, which it does admirably. The four-star rating is due to two factors. The first is that it does not protect all areas, which I already mentioned. This isn't the product's fault because I wouldn't be able to reach the stylus if it were. The second reason is minor, but it remains a source of irritation for me. Although this item is clear, it is not crystal clear or transparent clear. It's an opaque / translucent clear that detracts from the limited edition 3DS's aesthetics. br>br>Normally, I take excellent care of my products, but I wanted to go above and beyond with this one. With that in mind, if you're looking for a 3DS XL case protector, this is the one to get.
