First and foremost, it appears to be in reverse order. The part that says "pull me" isn't actually pulled off first, and then they chose to split the protective plastic into two parts (about 3/5 of the way, not halfway). ) This means you get it partially down and then have to carefully pry that part out, 100% guaranteeing that dust will get in while you are doing this (law of the Any pause equals dust under the shield. ) I've only been using screen protectors on devices for about ten years (I started with PDAs that had resistive touchscreens), which apparently isn't long enough because this one managed to perplex me with its backwards design and split protective plastic on the wrong side. I've used a lot of screen protectors and modern ones are FAR better designed, with the protective plastic being the same size as the protector (you don't want it sticking to your screen). ) Call me OCD, but I can't stand it when a speck of dust gets in or when I get those rare few bubbles that no amount of pushing can get out, and this one appears to be designed specifically to ensure that this happens because you have to lift it up too much to get the other piece out. As a result, my top screen protector had to be thrown away (unfortunately, the top screen is only protected by a relatively soft plastic, so it can scratch as well), and my bottom one has several glaringly ugly specks (you don't have to be OCD to notice them) that make it annoying enough that I WILL have to replace it. br>br>In addition, the package only contains one. Now, I'll admit that it was my fault for not noticing that it only has one and assuming it's three like all the other decent ones in this price range, but at the same time, there should be three at this price range. Even if the user doesn't make a mistake, there's a good chance he or she will. I admit that it was my fault for failing to notice that it wasn't the usual three pack, but it's also their fault that it wasn't a three pack at this price point. br>br>I had previously purchased a different brand for my 2DS, but I had forgotten what it was (and didn't think I'd have to go to the trouble of digging through my records to find out what it was because from a quick search I thought Hori sounded right because they are such a big brand. ) I've since looked it up, and it was iLLumiShield. They come in a three-pack, are less expensive, are more transparent, and apply much better. I'll have to order another as soon as I can no longer take it, but I've already spent that much on this blunder, and I'd like to at least get some use out of it before I throw it away. br>br>I gave it a plus one star because it's pretty good at handling fingerprints if you can get it to work perfectly. At this price, it should be a three pack, so I deducted one star. The rest was simply due to poor design in general.
I am very pleased with my purchase; they were simple to install and there have been no problems so far. They're also simple to remove and adjust with clear tape, which is a huge plus for me. I don't have to be concerned about getting it right the first time or getting dust trapped between my toes. br>br>I didn't realize when I bought it that it also helps prevent fingerprints from sticking to it, which makes a big difference. The protectors themselves are made of plastic and glued together with a special glue that gives them a long life. I don't think they'll get scratched any time soon; everything appears to wipe clean with a microfiber cloth. br>br>I'd buy it again if I needed to, and I'd recommend it to anyone who was interested.
Hori is one of my favorite artists - My Pikachu 3DS XL and Japanese Final Fantasy LL both have silicone 3DS cases from them. I got a 2DS to use as a beater machine so that my special edition 3DS wouldn't get damaged, and I got screen protectors for it. Despite the high price, I went ahead and bought this one because Hori's accessories have always been good. br>br>The instructions on these screen protectors are very unclear, so I ended up trying to stick on the non-Hori screen protector. The screen of the 2DS is adhered to the adhesive side. Despite my best efforts, the top screen protector has bubbled and become clogged with lint. It's not always noticeable while playing, but it irritates me whenever the screen is dark. If you're OCD enough to buy screen protectors, get one with multiple protectors in a case (I got another one with three sets for half the price!). br>br>I despise putting these things on, but Hori's instructions are terrible, and for the price, they should at least package two of these together. I chose a different brand, which comes in a three-pack, and which I hope will be easier to apply.
First and foremost, the screen protector does not completely cover the screen. It would be long enough to reach the other edge of the 2ds screen if you started at the edge of the screen to place it on. The touch screen is in the same boat. So, if you want the screen to be evenly placed, you'll have to peel it off - It needs to be moved and then re-placed. br>This brings us to the second issue: The protector attracts dust. It won't come out once it's in, and you'll end up with a dusty screen filyer on top of your monitor.
For the past couple of weeks, I've been using these screen protectors. I haven't subjected my 2DS to any significant damage in that time, so I can't comment on how well they protect against scratches. They're relatively simple to implement, in my opinion. They do show fingerprints, but they're easy to wipe away with a microfiber cloth, and they stay off my screen. This product has met my expectations. br>br>.
These screen protectors are fantastic (as long as you can get them on the screen). They do precisely what is required of them. Although, unlike some, this was my first time using HORI brand protectors, I found the application to be a little difficult! The instructions were a little difficult for me to understand, and the formatting of the manual made the steps difficult to follow. I eventually gave up on the instructions and simply used regular screen protectors. As a result, your results might differ.
There are no bubbles in this picture. I wish HORI made screen protectors for mobile phones every time I use a HORI screen protector on one of my Nintendo devices. That's because HORI produces the best screen protectors for any device that has ever existed. There aren't any bubbles, and the display is crystal clear. br>br>I should mention that if you've never used a HORI screen protector before, it's a good idea to watch a YouTube video on how to do so. There are several steps to this process. It's a little more complicated than a standard screen protector, but that's because HORI doesn't have any of those pesky bubbles.
