Questions & Answers

Is this going to work with the new 3DS XL?

I just put this screen protector on a US New Nintendo 3DS XL and it fits perfectly, just like it did on my previous 3DS XL. Great!

Is it going to have an impact on 3D viewing? Is it still three-dimensional in appearance? I was under the impression that 3D was dependent on lighting. Thank you very much. ?

No, it has no effect on the 3D. The presence of the protector on the system is almost imperceptible. You can't go wrong with this protector pack.

Is there an a and b protective film on this product, similar to those used on cellphones?

He's referring to the screen protector sandwiched between two disposable layers, which are typically labeled A and B on screen protectors for mobile phones. They're just for application, and you peel them off in steps (sometimes referred to as 1 and 2). I have no idea what the answer is, but I wanted to assist him.

You won't find a better set of screen protectors than these
5/5

Wow, this is incredible. The perfectionist in me had made the decision to finally peel off my ill-fitting clothes. I decided to try again after applying 3DS (XL) screen protectors—and I'm glad I did. br>br>Of course, I was initially turned off by these. With all these little plastic tabs hanging off, they appeared to be overly complicated. (I believe there were a total of four tabs. ) ) I sat for a long time, perplexed by the instructions. Finally, despite my apprehensions, I made the decision to begin. I made use of a screen-printing technique. Cleaning solution with the included cloth (I don't think the cloth would have worked on its own because it is dry and papery, not microfiber). br>br>Removing the first "tab" simply creates a temporary "sticky spot" where you can carefully align and secure the screen protector. Everything is simple and painless from here on out: You remove the screen protector's backing *from underneath*, ensuring a perfect and relatively dust- and hair-free installation. This is a free app. The final painstaking step of "scraping" errant air pockets and "bubbles" away remains, as with almost all screen protectors, but the screen protector itself has a temporary protective film on it, ensuring that you won't scuff it during this all-important process. The final step is crucial. Voila! Finished. br>br>After skimming the reviews before writing my own, I realize I'm not as meticulous as some of you, because applying both screen protectors only took me three minutes. That said, I believe "speed" worked in my favor here, as I worked quickly enough to avoid trapping any dust, and the end result is nearly invisible, to my delight. br>br>I'm a HORI aficionado because their products are consistently high-quality. designed and of high quality I didn't expect such thoughtful design from a pair of *screen protectors*, but I was pleasantly surprised. Again, a fantastic product; I'm glad I went ahead and bought it.

NN3DSXL is a perfect match
4/5

This could have easily been a 5-star rating. The removal tabs for the top screen are on the wrong side of the protector, which makes it a one-star product. The tabs end up on the hinge, making it even more difficult to apply the screen protector. br>br>On YouTube, Hori has a video that shows how to use the protector. The instructions that come with the kit are a little hazy and difficult to understand. follow. br>br>As you can see in the video, applying the screen protector to the lower screen only took a few minutes, and there were no air bubbles! br>br>I ended up putting the protector on upside down for the upper screen. I assumed I had the protector upside down and flipped it around to make it easier to apply because the removal tabs ended up sitting on the hinges. This is only a problem because the upper screen is not symmetrical in the first place. If you're an anal, you'll notice that if you put the protector on upside down, it doesn't perfectly match the top screen. br>br>Only two air bubbles remained in the top protector, which I easily removed. It does not scratch easily. br>br> Believe me when I say that I tried. The film covering that must be removed scratches easily (much like when removing air bubbles), but the protector's film cover is trash in any case. br>br>As if it were its job, the upper screen enjoys attracting and trapping dust. To be honest, I'm not sure what the purpose of the upper screen protector is. Because you shouldn't touch the upper screen, I'm not sure what the upper screen protector is supposed to protect it from. br>br>However, as I previously stated, it would have been ideal if the removal tabs had been placed on the opposite side of the top screen protector, as it would make applying both protectors much easier.

You're clever, but you still have to outsmart the protector
4/5

I'm a pro at putting screen protectors on. I used to work as a mylar film installer, so I could be in the minority here. br>br>These come with terrible instructions, but you get the idea. You put the protector on and use tape to keep it in place. Then you pull a tab that reveals the underside of the screen protector, allowing you to stick it to the screen in the exact right spot without misplacing it or dusting it. br>br>See, that's a great theory, but mine ripped right through the middle without ripping out the two corners. The instructions make it appear as if they will come forward at some point, but they will not. The bottom film, on the other hand, protrudes just enough from the corners to push them off and complete the removal of the bottom layer. Everything would have been a lot more aggravating if the initial tape hadn't kept everything in place. It's almost like the old method of revealing the entire back and carefully placing it at that point. You could even use your own tape and get a similar result. br>br>Anyway, you then remove the top cover. And that's where the cash is. br>br> The top shield is extremely thin and of excellent quality. It's hard to tell it's there. It isn't slick either. It's easy to clean, and I don't think it attracts dust as much as a regular screen or a glossy cover might. The bottom protector is quite substantial and of excellent quality. These films are of excellent quality, and I am very pleased with them. So, despite the clumsy application method, these are excellent protectors, and I'm considering leaving them on. (I was only going to put the top on until I could get some bigger bumpers to avoid the screen scratching. ).
