It's quite simple. I didn't use my turntable with the dirtier records (which I bought used). Simply place a large, clean microfiber cloth on a table (if you don't already have one, Amazon has some good options). Place the record on the cloth after that. To remove visible dirt, rotate the brush clockwise and then counterclockwise along the grooves of the record, then spray the tiny cloth x2 with the solution (just damp enough to pick up the dirt). Using the same brush, wipe down the record. You don't need to apply too much pressure; the brush and cloth should be able to pick up the dust. For those who are concerned about the preservation of the environment. I only have about 200 records in my collection. It's a byproduct of far too many international relocations. Vinyl is unfamiliar territory for me. The first record (which was brand new at the time) had a terrible skip. I tried to rebalance the arm, but it was still the only record that skipped badly. I just finished a cleaning pass with the brush, spray, and cloth, and then brush once more. I used this kit to give some of my thrift store finds a new lease on life. Although this kit could have been cheaper, I suppose it does the basic job of cleaning the records. The spray is a little on the small side, and with my usage, I expect it to run out soon. Occasionally, the brush does nothing more than move the dust around. The small cloth appears to be in good condition. Overall, it was a decent kit; however, the price is a little high given the poor quality.

Although it appears to be a good product, it is packaged in two tiny lipstick-sized containers. Each unit was able to clean approximately 10 albums. For what it is, it is way overpriced.

The brush is extremely flimsy and does not appear to clean effectively. The best brush, in my opinion, is one made of velvet.
