Questions & Answers

Have you ever used these when they were wet? I'd like to try out some wet cleaning techniques. ?

They work well in both wet and dry conditions. Between cleanings, I always make sure to brush them clean. Cleaning the felt pad can be done with any type of record brush. It's also possible to get replacement pads.

Even after eight months, it's still a good brush
4/5

I debated whether or not to buy this for a long time before deciding to do so. Many reviews stated that it works well as a dry brush, but that it falls apart when exposed to any kind of solution. br>br>Well, I've had this brush for eight months and so far it's been great. so good. br>br>Now, to be fair, I haven't done much with this solution - a dozen or more times - I still prefer to use my older brush, partly because I'm afraid this one will break down on me. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems with wet-suits so far. This brush is used for cleaning. I'm hoping the company has addressed the glue issue mentioned by other reviewers. br>br>As a dry brush, it does exactly what it should - It does a good job of picking up dust and improving the sound of my records. I'm not one of those people who thinks they're better than everyone else. I'm a self-proclaimed audiophile who doesn't have the same ear as some audiophiles (I grew up in the 1980s, so a Walkman was my weapon of choice back then), and this brush is perfect for me. If you have records and are tired of staring at review after review that contradicts each other for each and every brush you look at, I think you'll be happy with this. br>br>If you have records and are tired of staring at review after review that contradicts each other for each and every brush you look at, I believe you'll be happy with this. br>br>If you have records and are sick of staring at review after review that contradicts each other for each and every brush you.

It's a cinch to use
3/5

This brush gets a 5 as a dry cleaning brush. A few passes around the record brought dirt and dust to the surface, which a carbon fiber brush could pick up. It's a cinch to use. br>br>It gets a 1 or lower as a wet cleaning brush. The adhesive pad stuck to the handle well, but the fiber material peeled away from it. The material disintegrated after four rounds of wet cleaning. Several feet of fiber were wrapped around the cleaning turntable, leaving balls of fluff on the floor. br>br>Either Mobile Fidelity doesn't make these pads, or they define wet cleaning differently than I do. In any case, the remaining pad will never come into contact with cleaning fluid and will most likely function as a dry cleaner as advertised.

Works well with the VPI 16 vacuum cleaner
5/5

I have a VPI 16 on my computer. I've been experimenting with various chemicals and brushes/pads since I was five years old. I'm cautious because there are a lot of products on the market that can harm vinyl. So the trick is to find a cleaner and brush that work in one or two operations while ensuring that the vinyl records are not damaged. For the first pass, I use MOFI Super Deep Clean and the MOFI cleaning brush/pad, followed by distilled water. I've gotten much better results with this than I have with any other chemicals, methods, or brushes, and there's almost no risk of damaging the LP. Although the VPI fluid and brush are excellent and safe, they do not appear to have the cleaning power of the MOFI Super Deep Clean and brush combination. VPI recommends adding alcohol to help with cleaning, but in my experience, alcohol is a powerful cleaner that can leave a permanent "fizz" on vinyl records.

It doesn't stick to the wall as well as the original
3/5

They don't stick as well as the originals. . . they fray much more easily. . . a major letdown. . . back to the crosley brush for the rinse water spreader.

Don't fall victim to a con artist
3/5

This is nothing more than a bag containing two thin black sheets. A brush for cleaning records is clearly visible in the item's picture. This isn't useful because I don't own the brush.

It works fine, and the material appears to be the same
4/5

br>Size is a little off, but it still works. 3M 300LSE is the adhesive backing. Given that it is a MoFi product, the price is very reasonable.

These are functional, but the cost has increased by a factor of two
3/5

Other record cleaning options that work just as well as the MOFI brush have been doubled in price for some reason. As a result, I suppose I'll start purchasing those instead.

I don't care for the replacements, but you'll need them if you
5/5

After being wetted by record cleaning fluid, the sticky side of the first as well as these p0ads loosens, necessitating frequent replacement. I don't care for the replacements, but if you use re3cord cleaners, you'll need them.
