To be clear, you should never attempt to resurface any Blu-ray disc media. This includes Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray movie/TV discs, as well as game discs from video game systems such as the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and WiiU, as well as anything else that uses the bluray format for its discs (the Xbox 360 still used DVD format discs, and any systems prior to that used DVD or CD, which are safe to resurface). The reason you shouldn't resurface Bluray media is that it has a special coating applied at the factory that makes it much harder to scratch than DVD or CD media, and resurfacing it like a DVD or CD would remove this protective layer. It usually just ruins the disc in the process, but even if a resurfaced bluray disc works for the time being without its protective coating, it is now just as easy to scratch as a DVD or CD, and because the data on a bluray disc is much more compact, ANY teeny-tiny scratch or nick will almost certainly result in data loss or render the disc unreadable. This protective coating makes it simple to gently polish blurays to remove fingerprints and smudges without scratching them, but this does not necessitate the use of an expensive machine. Simply get a microfiber lense cleaning cloth and clean them by hand; NEVER resurface them in a machine like this, which uses abrasives to remove scratches by removing thin layers of the disc's plastic. Your bluray disc will be destroyed as a result of this process.
They go in flat on a turntable under the lid and end up on the cleaning or sanding pad on the bottom when the lid is closed. It is fairly simple to use. It's also very effective.
This is the single-arm unit, not the dual-arm unit.
I'm assuming you used all three (coarse/fine/white/blue) for the four steps. It should work if the surface is clear, gleaming, and free of scratches. I had to process some disks twice or three times to get rid of the worst scratches. Take a look at the silver layer in the middle as well. If the disc is damaged in any way, it is nothing more than a coaster. br>br>The bad news is that some discs have a damaged data layer that cannot be repaired. If these discs previously worked but no longer do, make sure to work them until the surface looks like a brand new dvd.

I decided to start a small business doing disk repair after realizing that there was none in my immediate area. Because I couldn't afford to spend a couple of thousand dollars, a few weeks of research always led me back to this machine. During this time, I read almost all of the reviews on this site as part of my research. So that's how far I've gotten. br>br>The original order was delivered on time and in perfect condition. I used it to repair my son's NCAA '14 XBox 360 disk. It was significant to him because it was the final year in which the game was produced. The disk had the dreaded XBox Ring of Death (1st photo) as well as a few extra scratches. I followed the instructions to the letter and turned on the machine, but nothing happened when I pressed the buttons to set the buffing time. I decided to return it after conducting some research. I was concerned after reading some reviews about not being able to return items to JFJ and poor customer service, so I wondered if I would have a similar experience. Rather than calling the company, I went to Amazon, filed a claim, and received an RMA to return it within two days. I called the company after sending it through FedEx and informed them that I had received it, and they immediately sent me a replacement with additional supplies (I only returned the machine; According to JFJ, I did not return any supplies. br>br>Within four days, I had received my new machine. We turned it on the other day in the hopes that it would work. It did, so we ran the disk through the two buffing cycles that were recommended. The disk was still unreadable by the XBox, as you can see in the second photo, due to minor scratches that I didn't think were relevant. As a result, I ran it through a ten-point inspection. After a second sanding cycle with the soft sandpaper, repeat the two buffing cycles as directed, and voila! It had a mirrored, like-new finish after wiping away some buffing compound residue (see photo 3). The best part is that it functions flawlessly, and my son is ecstatic. br>br>I realize it was only one disk, but I'll be back for more reviews as time goes on. But I want to emphasize that returning the non-refundable item was not a problem for me. working machine, JFJ customer service was exceptional in my opinion, and the machine did indeed "fix" the disk as advertised. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I had to return the original machine; if the first one had worked as well as the second, this would have been a true 5-star experience. a 5-star rating.
USE THE SANDING PADS ONLY IF THE DISC HAS BEEN LOST FOR SOME TIME! Sanding the disc will result in permanent marks. Now that I've given you a heads up, here's what's going on: Between the tightening nut and the disc, place a thin soft hose washer (cut in half) or a CD spindle packaging pad (both work well). Otherwise, this nut will damage your discs. Tighten the nut with the disc bottom facing you, but not so tight that the disc cracks. Use Mother's California Gold wax from Auto Zone instead of the supplied white and green stuff. To get the wax into the pad, start with a liberal application. After that, apply the wax directly to the disc, covering it completely (a few small chunks left over are fine). Keep a spray bottle handy and squirt the disc and pad right before you begin. 2 minutes of running Most scuffs should be removed. Switch pads and use a small amount of toothpaste as the wax polishing agent for deeper scuffs. Do not polish the discs for more than 4 minutes in total! I squirt both sides of the disc when it's finished and wipe it clean with a microfiber towel. If necessary, repeat, but only once more (unless the disc is already a lost cause, in which case go for it). Only use the sander to save a severely damaged disc because it will cause more (acceptable) damage while repairing the flaws. Other useful hints, such as how to make the pads last longer, can be found in YouTube videos.
The machine isn't perfect, but it's the best you can get unless you're willing to spend a couple thousand dollars on an RTI. I've tried a number of competitors' products, but JFJ is in a class by itself. I've had my Easy Pro for almost three years and have only now decided to write a review because I recently replaced it with a new one (of the same model). ) There have been no mechanical issues, but the plexi lid has cracked, which is a minor cosmetic issue. It's my fault; I didn't do a good job packing when I moved. I've easily run 15,000 discs through my machine and am very happy with it. I've never used the coarse sandpaper because it isn't necessary- You can get away with using smooth paper and buffing heavily. After prolonged use, the machine will become hot and will shut off to avoid overheating. It will produce a lot of messy waste on the machine's inside walls, so I clean mine out once or twice a month to keep it from caking up too much. br>br>Supplies are reasonably priced; however, third-party versions do not perform as well. br>br>In terms of operating tips, I buffed each disc for 2 minutes before polishing it for 1 minute, unless it had deep enough scratches to necessitate sanding. I never buff and polish for less than an hour because I like my discs to look brand new when they're finished.
