Double Sided (DS) floppies are 5" in size. DOS 720K or Mac 800K disks are commonly referred to as Double Density (DD) disks because they have one hole in the bottom corner. I'm not sure, but I used it to clean the drive in my sewing machine and it worked great. I was able to save a considerable amount of money.
Two- sided. It can clean both single and double-sided hard drives.
Although this item is and has been extremely useful, I no longer use floppy disks.

Cables Unlimited is, in my opinion, ripping off their customers. I received the Aidata cleaner, which is significantly less expensive than the product pictured. The aidata cleaner was also available on Amazon for a much lower price, and it works, though I'm not convinced that drives in regular use need to be cleaned weekly. The cleaning cartridge pad should be removed from the diskette and replaced if it becomes discolored, according to the instructions. The diskette is permanently sealed and there are no spare pads.
I have an IBM Model 25 from the mid-1980s that is in pretty bad shape. I used to use an old EPROM burner in the 1980s, and the floppy finally gave up the ghost. I picked up this cleaner, and it worked like a charm on the 30 year old drive, making it as good as new. I am ecstatic. If you're having trouble getting a drive to reliably write or format floppies, try this. It's much easier than looking for a new or used floppy, especially proprietary floppies in old BTO machines like mine.

The only use for plain alcohol, and the shockingly limited uses for it, was to clog things up. It's best to understand how to manually remove and clean a floppy drive. Not only do you have a ten-dollar bottle of bourbon, but you also have a ten-dollar bottle of bour.
It worked on an old floppy drive in an ancient computer I use at work, so it appears to do the job. The value for money is there. The package can be securely reclosed if you fiddle with it and do not mess it up when you first open it. The faux floppy and cleaning solution can be kept together in this manner.
