Vizio 2.1 M-Series All-in-One Home Theater Sound Bar - M21D-H8

When everything is in order (ha! ), it's a wonderful thing. ) The soundbar is serviceable but not exceptional. All of the negative issues mentioned by other reviewers are true, and they occurred in my case as well. Randomly turning on in the middle of the night, blasting Chinese radio programs (impossible to turn off or down; must unplug from wall manually). More recently, when a movie is playing, the soundbar will simply disconnect, or, worse, connect to those Chinese radio programs. There hasn't been a SINGLE incident in my entire life. Since I bought this soundbar last month, I've had a free day with it. I've called Vizio support several times in an attempt to resolve the problem. Nothing has worked, including purchasing (with my own money) a thumb drive and updating the sound bar's firmware, as per the latest "fix" proposed by Vizio call support. To add to the frustration, Vizio does not issue refunds, so at best, I've been told they can replace with a new soundbar, but even new soundbars will mess up without the firmware fix (newsflash: even new soundbars will mess up without the firmware fix). They weren't working even after the fix). br>br>To purchase this soundbar, you must be aware that you will almost certainly: br>br>1) buy a defective product that only works OK in the best of circumstancesbr>2) have to manually unplug the soundbar if/when it connects to random radio signals/programsbr>3) expect your movies and television to be interrupted by said random radio connectionsbr>4) need to have (or purchase) a FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive in order to update firmware on even brand new soundbarsbr>5) waste literally HOURS of time on V I could go on and on. br>br> This purchase has caused me so much grief that I'm writing to warn other potential buyers to stay away. A WARNING HAS BEEN GIVEN TO YOU.

The soundbar went out on me without warning. It doesn't switch between the different modes, such as hdmi, hdmi arc, and so on. The remote won't work, but the volume keeps increasing on its own. Signals from other remote controls are picked up by the soundbar. Without the use of a remote, the light on the soundbar simply goes up and down incessantly. I returned but decided to order the H8R again to see if it was any better.

I have two of these, and I love them so much that I purchased a third. However, as soon as the second one arrived, each soundbar began to malfunction. When the device is turned off, it will start at full volume or play random sounds. The last point was the most alarming. It was as if the bluetooth had picked up someone's gospel music one Sunday and then a phone conversation the next. You could turn it on and off, as well as change the input, but the only thing you could do was adjust the volume. It would alternate between playing both sounds and playing the random one. I did the (inconvenient) usb drive update for both, but it happened again after that. Maybe it was a fluke week or two, but I haven't had the random connections happen in a month or so, but the super loud volume does happen now and then. br>br>Vizio has amazing sound bars for the price. However, this is the first time I've encountered such a problem.

Beautiful sleak design, crystal clear dialogue, deep powerful bass, virtual surround sound from all directions, and theater-like virtual surround sound. What hasn't been said about how great this soundbar is? Vizio hit it out of the park with this one! For your audio enhancement and entertainment needs, this is a must-have. A fantastic purchase, a fantastic product, and a fantastic way to improve your speaker system without the hassle and mess of multiple speakers. It's an all-in-one soundbar with a lot of punch! In a heartbeat, I would buy it again.

It managed to pick up on a variety of other external devices in some way. They were suddenly played. Very loud and unexpected. No way to turn it off with the remote; the only way to turn it off was to unplug the power completely. My son, I believe, /or husband contacted a technician for assistance, but we continue to have issues with the sound input on occasion, especially if we disconnect to move or readjust wires. I'm debating whether to keep or return something; is there a time limit?.

This initially connected properly, but the TV did not sync. After turning off the TV and unit, the unit would make scratching noises and refuse to connect; tried several times to connect, but if successful, it was only until you turned everything off, after which it would refuse to reconnect.
