Isn't working at all in a damaged state. There is a problem with this VCR. Both the DVD player and the television do not. Plugging it in in the TV and connecting to it according to the instructions online is pretty straightforward. A remote control was the only gadget that worked. My DVD would not shut off or eject the door after I put the video into the VCR. Now I still have the video stuck in the VCR. It would not play a DVD of Bruce Lee that was stuck in the DVD player. It appears as if the DVD player is reading the DVD and the screen appears, but after the system shuts down, it turns off. There's nothing pleasant about it. I did not feel that the purchase was worthwhile! My time was extremely limited, so I was unable to connect it up before November 1st. This isn't the first time it's been unboxed and then had the problems that it has. Using a VCR DVD player that does not work on both sides is frustrating for me. As a result, this latest purchase comes with another for use with the VCR. If there wasn't a TRUTHFUL VERIFICATION of the VCR/DVD player from Amazon, or something happened at the time of delivery, then something went wrong. Padded and wrapped with plastic wrap, it was packed carefully with extreme care. The UNDERLYING PRODUCT was not damaged during delivery, so I cannot see how anything could have happened. MJ says the seller was dishonest about this situation, which is what took him to his conclusion.
There was no recognition by the dvd player included in the dvd/vhs combination player that DVDs were inserted. There was an error message reading "insert disk", though the disk had already been There was the same error message when I tried 4 different DVDs. It's only natural that the DVD player wouldn't play it.
We did not receive cables for the TV to connect. It was not possible to operate the dvd/vcr combo with the remote. In the end, I had to purchase a remote and use cords I already had. Overall, things seem to be going well.

Advertisement that is false. There is a notice saying all the cables and remotes come with it, but I didn't receive Due to the fact that I bought two units, they sent me remote controls. The batteries for one remote are missing the batteries for the other remote are missing. Just tabbing batteries together is not the right thing to do. I asked for remotes only because the add said all cables must be used and there was no way for me to hook up any cables.
As an added bonus, this one came with a remote, and as an extra, the seller printed out and included the manual! It came securely wrapped in bubble wrap, which was a nice surprise. Yes, I'm also like that! old pieces of technology from earlier times, these VCRs are very ancient. There are still some of these on sale, which I was happy to find. mother is a senior and is not a fan of all the "newfangled electronics". Since she likes to tape all of her favorite shows to watch later and she has plenty of old movies (some unavailable on DVD, etc) when her old VCR broke (it lasted 20 years LOL), I couldn't find anything here on Amazon that would help her out. I cannot believe how much the "New" ones on here cost! When I bought the VCR*s back in the day, I would have bought several if I had known they would sell for so much money now. This combination of the VCR and DVD has worked fine so far. There were a few gremlins once in a while, and * It did not come with the RCA cables as advertised, but luckily I still have tons of them.
