The machine can convert VHS tapes to DVDs, or do I have to buy an adapter for it?

From my observations of the machine and my knowledge of VHS tapes, it is not possible to convert them into DVDs. With this machine, DVD/VHS discs are capable of being played on a television screen, but we need adapter cords to make the connection to the TV.

A box with an open top arrived

In an unopened box, without a remote and wrapped in saran wrap, it arrived. Once hooked up, this device groaned, made a whirring noise, then went out. I returned it as soon as possible. Please forgive me.

I couldn't even tell the picture quality was bad

I am very unhappy with the image It is obvious that the unit was not tested before being sold. I cleaned the VCR three times with cleaner and attempted to fix the tracking without any success. I gave up after an hour of trying. It is not recommended in any way.

This is a good, basic machine that is still reliable even though it has been It is great to know they are still 'out there'! A good thing about this one is that the remote for our "older" Magnavox (broken) also works with this one

The Magnavox x12 has a simple design and no bells and whistles, such as recording (which comes with our other Magnavox), but it is a very convenient device for performing basic tasks We found this unit to be very friendly and just what we needed in the middle of this difficult time.

I was glad to have someone set it up for us once we had it set up. Our DVD collection has now been grown to include our wonderful collection of DVDs and videos. This new device plays but does not record.
