Used in a PS3 3001 series, it plays DVDs perfectly

It can read DVDs but not Blu-ray discs or video games. After about twenty minutes of reading blue rays, it began to act up. Later, I'll double-check all of my connections and provide an update. My system is now primarily used for my son's movies rather than gaming, so I'm glad it's still half functional.

It didn't work after installation because it couldn't read disks, and there were a few complaints about it, so I should have paid attention.

Replacement drive is in worse shape than the current drive, with scratches all over it

When I put the PS3 in, it didn't recognize the discs and wouldn't let me load them into the system. From the beginning, it has been defective, and it has been a waste of time and money. br>While installing the drive voids the manufacturer's warranty, the link provided for proper installation is no longer active. This is in addition to the fact that the drive had multiple broken screw housings and was missing a screw that held the drive together.
