Take a moment to read this instruction. Where does the term "Ethernet port" come from? What is the best option for a connection to your computer? The cameras or the actual "Ethernet"? Almost all networks include an Ethernet connection for connecting your cat5 patch cable to
We have them installed in a Swann system in our detached garage. From the house, cat6 travels underground, then from one end of the garage to the other. We find that it works just fine

The product has held up perfectly, I'm not sure how it would hold up in a heavy rain (since I live in southern California) but as long as you keep it in a sealed waterproof container, however, you will be fine.
If you are mounting these outside, be aware that the balun Ethernet port is a bit thick, so if you want to hide your wires (up in your eaves), you will need to either connect it from the inside of the house and feed it outside to The hole can then be fed through, sealed, and a bit larger hole you can then drill. All of these work as intended, and I highly recommend them!.
My SATs were moved to Cat5e because they allowed it. This is a bit finicky if you don't know how to place them correctly (make sure you don't put any tension on them or else The rest of the time, they work well. The company allowed me to connect my cameras to Cat5e. In case I upgrade to IP cameras in the future, this will be ideal.
In fact, a cheap DVR camera system I installed at my rental property works better than I could ever have imagined. In case I ever decide to switch from BNC to IP cameras, I decided to run CAT5 rather than the prefab BNC cables. I am very impressed with the video quality. For my system, a cable run is no more than 100 feet.
If you want a surveillance hookup, then these are for you. How much better is it to pull data over premade cable that needs a huge hole or to use these and just pull Cat5 wire? If I add more cameras, or if I install them for our clients and friends, I'll always.
The baluns worked great and I had no problems. But, note that power and video baluns cannot be combined at the same time. On one end of the cable I used one brand and on the other end I used a different brand and they didn't Cat5 cables were between 60 and 90 cm in length I see no degradation in video quality at 110'.
They have performed flawlessly for me so far since I've used 4 sets of these for my security cameras. As a result, I was able to replace the original video/power siamese cables that came with the system with Cat5e cables, and use these cables to connect the cameras to the DVR. Clean video with 60 foot runs for both longest runs and no problems with power.
It is especially problematic when you have to drill through block walls because you only need a hole big enough to fit the cat5 cables. The 150' cat5 cables and the 60' cables that came with the DVR are connected by 150' cat5 cables.
