TLDR - Horrible. When you want anything more than a direct HDMI connection, you should go with Amcrest. It was with a great deal of excitement that I purchased this new DVR for my CCTV setup - my old one was dated, difficult to connect to without an app, and recently crashed without explanation. A new DVR with a minimum of 8 channels (using BNC), support for 4TB, and H was what I was looking for. An encoded version of 265 is available. My current Amcrest only works with Internet Explorer and requires a plugin that Windows doesn't like, so I thought that its time was limited before it's no longer supported. I hope Amcrest keeps their webclient updated to the current version. Although you can access the information through the app, it is cumbersome because there is a lot to take in and doing so on a phone is not as easy as on a computer. Thus, I figured since Zosi seemed to have so many DVRs available with excellent reviews, I would try them to see if they are better than those. Therefore, I decided it was not worth it as I would rather deal with using my phone and using the features of Amcrest. There is no doubt that Amcrest's new software is more effective than its previous version. Most new DVRs include a PC application (for Windows and Mac) that allows you to access and manage every aspect of your DVR. There is still a web client available, but it is still only compatible with Internet Explorer for the video feed. However, everything else can be accessed on any browser, so you can still change settings. As a result, I can now use an application or my phone to view the feed or recordings, and I can switch settings by using a browser, application, or my smartphone. ** I will say that because Amcrest has so many options and configurations, it could be difficult for someone who isn't tech savvy. In that case, I would suggest the Zosi DVR since it's a basic DVR. You can run this on a monitor over HDMI and it may also run over your phone, but there is little else to do. *On a side note, Go with Amcrest if you want real HD streaming (it comes in SD by default, but you can edit the settings to stream in HD) and a full set of scheduling features, alerts, movement notifications, and even facial recognition. The fact that I have 265+ is amazing, since I had H before. A 264 compression format was used, which saved three cameras 24/7 for about 2 hours. In contrast with all the 5 days I spent on a 1TB drive, now I'm using a 4TB drive. Two hundred and sixty-five+ and it's saving three cameras 24/7. I have been using less than 400MB for nearly 8 days. did not even have to upgrade my hard drive. Compared to the old compression format, the new format is far superior.
box was bought to replace an old, defective Lorex box that had been in use for four years. The cameras I already owned were in working order, so I just bought this to use with it. I was able to install the software without any issues. Following the directions in the manual will have you up and running quickly. There is a little clunkiness to the app, but it does what it has to do. It just requires a little more effort. So far, I'm satisfied with my purchase and will recommend it to others.
The DVR works in a barely adequate way on the local network. Although you can view the cameras in real time on a monitor, and they do record, you are unable to set them to record for motion only as they advertise (thereby loading up the hard drive with pointless recordings where there is nothing happening, which can also make searching for actual events more difficult). Having a DVR is, unfortunately, as challenging as not having one at all. Remote viewing is so overbearing that it makes it impossible for you to utilize this device. Typically, I prefer viewing my camera on a computer since I work on and off site quite frequently, and I find it convenient to switch between my work and the cameras by using alt tab. On two of my three PCs (Dell Windows 10 desktop, HP Windows 10 desktop and HP Windows 10 laptop), I am unable to get the PC client to work. According to customer support there is a problem with my OS installation, firewall settings, or internet connectivity, which seems unlikely since the two desktops are connected to separate routers and my laptop has not been able to make the client stream the camera feeds via any wireless network or In the Android app, I have occasionally gotten it to work, but it is often buggy either I am unable to load more than a few streams, I am stuck on one camera and cannot switch to another, or I am unable to load anything. It is constantly necessary to restart the app in order to try to view a different page. To cut a long story short, I'd recommend saving Regardless of how you look at this investment, it's a bad one.
A friend of mine purchased the item on March 22nd, and he was taken ill today, so he can't return it. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF REBOOTS PER DAY AND I GET IN TOUCH WITH Suddenly it started to reboot every hour and now there is a continually loud beep. No one has responded to my request for contact with Zosi. A new HD is in place and there is still a beep. A check of the hard drive on my computer shows it is in good condition. I do not recommend wasting your money.
Would strongly recommend it. To receive a verification code, please refrain from using your cell number. numbers are only valid for China, and you should not use your Gmail account, as the Gmail account cannot be used to receive codes.
If the quick start guide booklet that came with the package were more detailed, I would have given it five stars. I replaced my Q with a The ZOSI has been able to record with DVR Seeing the world through remote means is no longer possible after See went bankrupt. It was a simple installation considering the circumstances, but what I value the most is the customer support, especially given that it is based It was easier to resolve some issues with remote viewing via email communication since I had some problems with remote viewing. As a result of the work I have done with "Bill", who has always responded to my inquiries with detailed messages and links, which made the issue accessible. Those looking for an average surveillance system will not need to spend an arm and a leg on the product. I would suggest it to them.
