You get a lot more for your money with THIS NVR than with some of the cheap NVRs you found on Amazon. com. Conveniently, there are these cons There is a bit of slowness to the program and the interface is not intuitive, we also had some issues once with the hard drive, but it has been working fine since we formatted br>This is a dual core and 8 channel NVR, and I was torn between this and the quad core and 4 channel version (all 4 channels) but decided to go with this because once you catch the camera bug you simply cannot stop adding more systems. I still think it may be worthwhile to consider the quad version, because this one is a little bit slow when navigating through the GUI, although playback is fine. I have 3 different We have zmodo (the worst brand ever), Wyze, and Amcrest. The Amcrest is the only one that's connected directly to our NVR and is working as it should, even with fewer options than if we accessed the camera directly from our My Zmodos are onvif compatible and this NVR manages to pick them up from my home network with no problems. Last but not least, I am using the RTS protocol with the Wyze, and that works just fine (although the image will occasionally freeze). In summary, this is a great entry level nvr, it may seem expensive at first glance but it will save you money in the long run (trust me, this has been tested).
