5MP lite. This review is based on my experience with the 4k vs. 5mp for this brand. br>After my current night owl dvd broke, I decided to buy another brand dvd to keep my cameras rolling. br>For that purpose, I ended up buying the 4k vs. 5mp for this brand. I ended up purchasing the 5mp lite version for around $50, but later decided to upgrade to a more advanced model with 4k (8mp) capabilities. br>My first thought was to spend more money on something that was better, faster, and had more features. br>I was wrong, the 4k has an old interface, no options to upgrade firmware, and a limited FPM,br>My biggest disappointment is that the 4k version functionality is more limited than the cheapest option 5mp, (the 5mp lite has newer firmware with more advanced features like line-crossing, zone, and motion,br>I'll probably buy the 4k again in a few years, if they improve the software and a better FPS rate,br> br>I'm fine with 5mp, but I need at least 20 frames per second, which is my current setting (the current 5mp lite delivers about 15 frames per second, and 20 frames per second at 3mp). br>I'm hoping they'll be able to resolve those issues as soon as possible.
Colors were washed out and the image was sharp. This was purchased to replace a recorder with a web interface that used Flash. I'm working with AHD at the moment. IP cameras are video surveillance cameras that are connected to the internet. br>br>On the AHD, the color is washed out, but the image is crisp and the frame rate is consistent, so it's not bad. IP cameras don't detect motion, which is a real pain. I have Blue Iris for them, which is fortunate. br>br>Because the downloaded files are HVEC, you'll need to spend an extra $30 on conversion software if you want to edit the video in most editing programs. br>br>It's not a bad recorder, but it's not particularly good.
" Only your IP cameras' OSD options will be supported by compliant. " (Stamp with name, date, and time) The product is ONVIF compatible, which means you can keep your older wired analog cameras while adding newer IP cameras. However, it only supports ONVIF for the camera and recording, not for any of the camera's features other than setting the OSD fields. (date, time, and the name of the cam) My IP PTZ Cams have Sony IMX335 sensors, advanced image options such as wide dynamic range, shutter speeds, IRcut timing, SD CARD and FTP support, which are all standard features these days. BUT BUT BUT the biggest issue I'm having is that when any of my ONVIF IP cameras are ACTIVE in the DVR/NVR, it LOCKS ME OUT of the camera's configuration GUI, forcing me to DELETE the camera from the DVR/NVR just to make a change to the camera. The purpose of being an ONVIF compliant device is to allow other devices such as DVRSs, NVRs, and Viewing Apps to ACT AS THE CONFIGURATION UTILITY for the camera without having to log into the camera's built-in GUI (graphical user interface) just to change a camera setting; this is the WHOLE PURPOSE of being an ONVIF compliant device. I checked for a firmware revision at Annke before writing this review in hopes of finding one I guess I'm going to have to return this.
This was a great upgrade from my old DVR, which was six years old. It's simple to set up and get started. One thing I'd like to point out: It comes with a remote that works fine, but it can also change the screen when I use my television remote. Because I don't use the DVR remote, I simply blocked the remote sensor on the front panel of the DVR. I would strongly suggest it.
So, while the DVR works like any other DVR, the app is a complete waste of time. Even when connected to the same local network, live video will not load. The video would freeze after a few seconds on the few occasions when it did work. I'm going to return this divar and start looking for something new. Oh, and don't even get me started on getting the IP cameras to work. I've never been able to do so, and customer service has been silent for over a week.
Everything went according to plan. I've worked with a lot of different vendors, and this one has always delivered when customers require this type of device. Setup was very neat, simple, and there were no issues. Thank you very much.
There is no doubt about it. Remote viewing is simple to set up and configure. For me, this is the first Annke product. DVR is excellent. Much better image quality than previous DVRs with the same cameras. It's a nice app with a simple setup for remote viewing.
