It's not recommended that 3rd party cameras be used with Amcrest Technologies due to software incompatibilities, which will affect a number of features. I am a member of the Amcrest

My qsee nvr had a faulty fan in the power supply, and after hours on the phone going round and round, I was glad I did not get help from them, who only asked the model and brand of power supply. Neither of them would share the information with me. Therefore, I have a few Amcrest Wifi and POE cameras that I already own and have never had any issues with them. The Amcrest NVR with 16 ports has POE, which was important to me as I have cameras that use PoE.
I did some research and found that this was the newest model. Many of my friends had told me that I would probably not have any problems with the older Qsee cameras. I was not wrong. It was extremely easy to setup, in fact, the interface is similar between the two manufacturers and even considered using my backup configuration on the Amcrest. Mobile software also identical, but there are some differences. In terms of how the mobile software works, I can use it out of the box on my iPhones and iPads and I have absolute control over the configuration, even if I need to make technical changes. It wasn't possible to accomplish any of those things with Qsee. A maximum of m/s I can be achieved. There is a world of difference when you pick up a 4K camera. In the near future, I will purchase more cameras to replace my 1024 I currently have. There is only one of these At the moment, they come with a 4TB drive, and when they go on sale they will throw in another 4TB or 6TB drive. They also come with 4K cameras, when they go on sale. It has so far been a pleasure with the Amcrest, oh, it has a smaller footprint than the Qsee too. I have a filtered air space in my garage that is about 40 feet away, so I like this, since the room has more room for flow. While I did not want to hear the noise, the amcrest is super quiet as compared to the Qsee We recommend you get this NVR if you're looking to get a new one. There is room for growth in you.
It's been a while since I bought an Amcrest IP camera. With this NVR, I have connected all my IP cameras. My cameras are easy to set up and easy to connect. I can monitor all of them from my PC or smartphone using an There are also different brands of NVR that I have. My comparison is based on those NVRs. NVRs from Amcrest are cheaper but offer the same level of functionality as their previous models. There is a total of 20TB disk capacity that is capable of storing long-term files in HD or 4K. A good NVR to consider is this one.
It is easy to install, configure. According to the description, all features were functional. Since the early days of software, things have improved. There is a lot of noise coming from the fan in the power supply. The measured sound level was 54 dB. It's not something to put in a room where there is a lot of noise to be kept at It will be ideal to have a larger, higher quality fan that is quieter. An error has been detected. Power supply and fan noise are not turned off by shutting down from the device menu. To turn these off manually, I had to physically turn off the power switch. It may or may not be worth keeping after the first 30 days if it has these issues. We have several older units and none had these issues.
I was able to set up this DVR fairly easily, however some of the settings are a bit more complicated than those of other brands I have used in the past. After about 2 weeks my camera stopped working. In the event of an installation error, you may lose a camera or two, but it is not likely that all your cameras will be lost at the same time. A Benjamin S. , who I talked to for about 2 hours, is not available. We reached out to Amcrest support, and they had to completely reset the entire unit from scratch. Although he was very helpful, now that I think about it, I am a little concerned. When it does, I assume it has a faulty part and will proceed accordingly. As it stands, it is great to be able to monitor any angle of approach, day or night, to our home.
This NVR worked best when both cameras were tested in real time, and the 16 POE ports were tested. We also tested motion detection and night vision at night. Although it is excellent, I have made some settings changes and lost the video. I was not able to connect back to the NVR to reset the resolution and there were no instructions on how to do that. Here is when I discovered that the tech support is really poor. Finally, I had figured out how to open the NVR and found the reset button to reset it back to its factory settings and got the NVR working. A 5-star rating was given to the machine's functionality and reliability, but a 1-star ranking was given to the technical support. If there were a negative star, I would have given a negative rating to the support.
One of the fans is very loud, so I thought it was faulty and replaced it but found the same problem, so I replaced the cooling fans with noctua premium cooling very good quality with no sound, so the problem is solved.
The Amcrest NVR I purchased is my second one. My cameras have been working well with no issues to report. I plan to deploy multiple cameras in a test environment.
I can't think of anything more you could want! The vendor we ordered from again will be our go-to vendor.
