Questions & Answers

With the nvr connecting via ethernet cable to the att gateway/wireless router, and the wifi cameras connected to a Tplink wireless repeater, will this work?

In order to keep your NVR 5 Series up to date, Amcrest wants it connected directly to your router via Ethernet. With an Ethernet cable from my router to my POE switch, I can also work from anywhere, anytime. A POE switch is then attached to my cameras. Additionally, I have multiple cameras that are connected to a wireless network With my NV5216, I have wireless access to my router. Thanks for reading. I hope

What is the range of the wireless mouse when using ?

Yes, I was able to use Logistech wireless mouse without any

Do you know what the fan noise in the database is like? Unless someone has experienced a NVR with 8+ cameras, what does this unit sound like with 8 ?

With 8 cameras recording and no significant fan noise, I do not hear any sound. There is a lot of quiet around here

On this unit, what kind of motion detection is it reporting?

There is only one problem with the motion detection. The period of time between sending a snapshot to me and the event occurs is about 4 seconds, so the cause of the event is not included A question has been submitted to Amcrest so far, but I have not received a response. Maybe there is something I have missed in the settings, but I have looked through every option in the settings menu.

An improvement of a great deal
5/5

This will avoid choppy streaming on live view if you want to get rid of it. The Amcrest NVR I purchased last year is to be used with my 8 4K cameras, but I also have a TV monitor in the house that needs to be accessed through the HDMI output. There was a problem if you had more than one camera running at 4k, since the video stream would be choppy and the time would be erroneous. The camera never worked in any model or setting I tried from Amcrest. As a result of this new NVR, all 8 cameras are in 4K mode and the video stream is flawless and there is no choppy or out of sync and the audio is also perfect.

This is a nice quality for the money, so far no issues
5/5

I had to perform a firmware update after it arrived on time. I have not been able to get the mic to work on it yet. Being new at this, I am a bit inexperienced. After I updated the firmware, I was almost immediately able to pair the camera with my phone. As a result of the firmware update, I deleted the camera and was unable to pair it with my phone. It worked as if by magic when I changed the Manufacturer from Customized to Onvif. You must also set the decoder to Auto and Real time on the button, as shown in the attached photo. This is a decent price for the nvr. I wish it recorded 265+ instead of 264, but it is still a good purchase. There is a strange thing in the camera settings after it was updated. I was able to see the 265+ format, but the nvr didn't seem to react. Although, I would recommend it for the price. I have not used the night vision, I have not contacted the tech support yet, and I have not tested the motion yet. I am waiting for Amazon to deliver my HDD a day late.

It is difficult to view remote recordings on an NVR
3/5

Several Amcrest cameras and NVRs are installed at different locations in my home. It appears all users are experiencing the same problem remote viewing will stop working for hours or even days at a time when using the surveillance pro app. Amcrest support supplied me with several different surveillance pro clients and I have even tested different NVR models, all without However, in most cases the issue here is not with the client, but rather with the NVR, as you cannot even log into the NVR in a browser by typing the IP address of the unit in. No matter how many times I reboot the NVR, the web server just eventually returns to life. It seems to be as if the web server on the NVR quits, and I don't know how.

The NVR has a high capacity
5/5

For years, Amcrest cameras and NVRs have been a part of our infrastructure. As a result of upgrading from 8 1K cameras and an 8 channel Amcrest NVR to 16 4K cameras and a 16 channel Amcrest NVR, we only could store 3 days of video on the 6GB drive. This new NVR unit from Amcrest can hold two 10TB drives. We've been looking at other products that can hold more and found this one from Amcrest. The video library can now hold almost 2 weeks of content!.

This is not a good buy
3/5

Buying an Amcrest would make you feel like that's all you want to buy. I had a previous NVR that worked with my Amcrest camera, but the Amcrest NVR will only work with cameras made by Amcrest. For replacement cameras, I would need to hire someone to mount them and spend over $1000 on new equipment. To replace the Amcrest, I will buy a different NVR because I only paid $279 for it.

I was able to setup a camera system for a friend at his house using this product and its excellent support
5/5

These IP cameras and this NVR were used by Amcrest. We had no trouble setting up the cameras, but we encountered some difficulties getting the NVR and remote access to work properly after the cameras were installed. We worked with support to resolve the issue and were able to isolate some interference on the WiFi system as the cause of the problem. A change was made to the Wifi system, which corrected the problem.

It's a great hobby for my husband, who works in IT
5/5

We found the setup to be easy compared to other brands we have used previously. Two six-terabyte drives work well with this. A very simple process was required to add Amcrest cameras. The HikVision cameras have been a bit tricky to install and work with. It is great to have the Android app to watch stuff remotely.

The security camera recorder is great, and the tech support is even better
5/5

I have tried other security camera recorders that cost much There has not been a single one I have been pleased with. It has not only performed much better than other NVRs, but when I had technical problems, Ben H. was always willing to help. Despite the fact that he went above and beyond to assist, he still went above and beyond. If you need help, this is the difference between a good and a great product!.
