It's a great way to get into 4K video for a low/mid-tier budget
5/5

Useful if you have a MCR camera. If accessed via the Internet a browser plugin is required in order to see the video. The layout is complex, and I'm still learning how to use all of the features. It doesn't seem like it will support 32 cameras, since it only has one gigabit port, and you shouldn't be able to lacp team them, or even a 10 gig port is nice. With video editing, the sliders could be easier to use. Although it's an upgrade over my Swann unit, it's still pretty great.

The unit is faster, smaller, and quieter than before
5/5

The better total throughput in comparison with previous version leads to smoother video when you have a large number of This version is much smaller and much quieter than the An improvement of major proportions. Since the size and noise of the device have been reduced, a slight decrease in storage capacity is caused The capacity of the hard drive can be increased to two high capacity drives instead of four small capacity ones. When the display is set for 4K video, the font on screen is too small. A firmware update is not possible (is this a bug? I reduced the product's score by one star because of this problem, but moving it down to 4 stars would be too much of a penalty, so I went with 5 stars.

I sold a camera system to a friend who runs an escape room
3/5

I thought it would work great, until I put it to the test. The old analog system had been at the agency for a while, but he wanted to update it. Consequently, I told him to order 30 Amcrest 4MP Turret cameras and build a Blue Iris server for him. I decided to order this matching NVR for his office when his employees complained about the original setup. I was able to add 12 or more cameras and things began to look good. I found, however, that the system became sluggish and laggy as I added more accounts. While live viewing of the escape room appeared to be okay via the app, it used a browser to do the same I have 16 different cameras connected to four In addition to loading all 30 cameras on this 32 Channel NVR, the system became My cameras and NVR were all reset to their default settings, and I started over again. As soon as things started to go south, they tanked. After a day or so, I went back to see what I could do so I could create a live view, but the NVR did not show the connected cameras in the status page. In order to reset the NVR, I wiped the hard drive once again. The behavior of the camera was the same after I added another camera. This system showed the camera connected on the status page, but refused to generate a live view by way of HDMI, VGA, Web UI, or by using the app. I had high hopes for it, but it seems it lacks the horsepower to perform at a decent speed. As a result, I returned the unit to Amazon, and installed a brand that I have used in the past, that wasn't as reasonably priced as Amcrest. I must say though, Amcrest was an excellent camera brand. It's great to have them! The manufacturer should be aware of the following note. If you connect an Amcrest camera to an Amcrest NVR, you should have full bi-directional communication You can control the cameras from the NVR in a number of different ways, including with all the My latest camera installation includes a MicroSD card. I always install MicroSD cards. If the edge recorded footage is to be viewed, the NVR should have had a spot devoted to it, not requiring users to log into it manually to see it. In the event that the future product is able to handle my needs, then I'd be happy to try it out.

The setup process is quick and easy
4/5

A playback problem has been reported. Although there are quite a few features on this NVR, I think the PC Surveillance Pro app has a lot more features, like setting up attendance shifts for each image, etc. I was hoping all of these would be included in this I find that the main issue is that the playback at higher than 2X speeds is not smooth. Fluid playback is only available at up to two times the normal If you go above 100 fps, each frame will be 10 seconds apart or more. The Blue Iris playback is excellent, even at maximum Motion detection does not capture all instances, which is the second problem. Despite settings to increase motion detection sensitivity and threshold, I've had problems where motion was not detected, or the recording started too late.

There are some tech support issues with this software
3/5

Although the NVR is good and has many options for cameras, it takes a very long time to start. I haven't tried the night vision yet, but since this is a review of the NVR, it isn't a big deal. isn't based in the United States, and I have called 5 times in the past week. Each time, I was helped by an Indian with a heavy accent and a terrible microphone. Although they return phone calls quickly, they are very bad at managing their work, so that I call and figure out what the problem is before they do, and then I guess about the problem. The only thing that would make it a 5/5 is better tech support with less fan noise when it starts up fast.

The NVR is fantastic
5/5

You can't beat this video recorder at this price point. Despite its standard ONVIF support, it does not have the ability to connect to ip paging servers. There is a weird Amcrest version of this.

The price is excellent
5/5

A great value for a system with 4 cameras that is easy to install. Although the cameras appear to be plastic, they appear durable and will last for a long time
The only downside is the App in which one must create an account in order to add the DVR. I prefer local logins. I just like it that way!.

It does not have a good user interface, nor is it friendly to use
4/5

Although the software works as intended, I would like the display screen to be more flexible and the settings to be more clear or at least provide.
