The LCD allows for a camera title, time, and date display for easy identification, and has a BNC input for four channels and a BNC output for video.

It allows you to choose between NTSC and PAL. This picture in picture shows the picture in picture position (top right, top left, View images in high resolution, adjust the resolution to suit your needs. This screen freeze feature is of high quality.

The description says it is a 4ch unit with BNC loop output, but the pictures show 8ch inputs with no loop outputs. Could you please confirm that it is a 4ch unit?

There are 4 channels of input and 4 channels of output on this unit. Due to the same back panel of an 8 channel multiplexer being used by the manufacturer, the back panel shows 8 channels.

In what context does the loop out function come into play? What is the best way to set up the layout of each output screen ?

Using the loop out function will only ensure you don't duplicate images. You can set the loop out the same way you set the screen on each

What if I used a black and white camera for ?

B/W cameras still work fine with it. In addition to only seeing black and white images when connected with B/W camera, this item also outputs only black and white video.

In this mirroring function, are you able to flip horizontally (backwards) AND vertically (sideways) for each channel at the same time?

There is no power switch, the LEDs are too bright and the device beeps excessively

2) Beeps loudly whenever video loss is detected and when the system is powered up It does not appear to have a menu option to disable it. The quiet room is not the right environment for this. There is no power switch 1) To switch the line voltage or unplug the unit, I need a power strip or to unplug the unit. 3) The lights on LED indicators are too bright for rooms with dim lighting. There is no way to turn off the lights. the box on the unit I received had "RMA" handwritten on it, and the remote was broken. I can use the remote as long as I keep the battery compartment closed manually.
The remote would probably be opened up so you could disconnect the beeper and tape over the LEDs if it wasn't damaged. Here's an update
In just a few days, Amazon replaced the RMA'd unit with a new one. By navigating the somewhat difficult menus, I found I could disable the beeping, as well as set the display resolution to 1080, so my TV would be less likely to connive. It is possible to make the LEDs more tolerable by covering two of them with four layers of blue tape. As I will be using a power strip, I will be able to turn it on and off.

Make sure that the power supply is stored in a single box

Please make sure the power supply is in one box, mine was missing the power supply. I am not sure whether the hole in the box has been cut open but it looks like it has been. I don't have any major complaints, though this unit did an excellent job so far. BUT OUR SHIPMENT IS A STORY UNTO ITS OWN. A LARGER UNIT IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR A DIFFERENT PRICE. The more expensive item started acting up after I had it for a week. I am pleased with the performance of this unit thus far.

It is very difficult to follow the output video and the manual

Purchase this unit at your own risk. The operators manual is extraordinarily poorly written with very little info, and in awful English. There is a horizontal line at the bottom of the display and there is no color or There were no noticeable differences in color or clarity between this unit and the previous one. Replacement will be made for I do not recommend it.

What I ordered was not what I received

In the past, I have ordered this, and when I logged into my Amazon account and reordered it, it was still available I was disappointed to receive something that was completely different and would not work for me when I ordered it. Upon returning it, I will make a note.
