This scanner is very good. It's simple to set up; all you have to do is enter your zip code and you're done. Delivery was very quick. The display began to fail after about three months. I can barely read the display after nine months. I'm going to have to return it. For my son's birthday, I purchased a second one. After 8 months, it's still going strong. We'll see if Uniden is able to assist me with my scanner issue.

I've owned and used scanners for over 40 years, and this is by far the most user-friendly radio I've ever had. I've programmed radios manually and with commercial software, and nothing compares to the ease with which this radio updates its data base and firmware. The keypad is well-designed, and the display can display full or limited information, depending on your preferences. This is a high-end radio that is well worth the investment. I haven't made the switch to NXDN, Provoice, or DMR yet. On P-, it performs admirably. There are 25 phase 2 systems total.

It's sturdy, has great sound, and is simple to operate once you get the hang of it. It was a breeze to program and do the favorites with the Sentinel program that I downloaded. I watched a few videos that showed me how to do it step by step and they were very helpful. We've had scanners in the family for generations, and this thing is a beast; I recall buying crystals from Radio Shack to get frequencies back in the day. Technology can be intimidating, but this is one scanner that I would strongly recommend. It's a bit pricey, but it'll last a long time.
