I am going to tell you straight on this one since the In order to use it, I purchased a serial port &amp cable There was no need for him It is complete with everything you need.
It is used both on computers and on smartphones. You can plug it into your handheld using the serial adapter that comes with it. When traveling, the scan automatically changes based on the proximity of nearby objects. I've used it on a 500mile road trip in the car without any

The paper that comes with the device leaves a lot to be desired and is an old version that doesn't specify BCD436HP or BCD536HP but works with A connector cable for the handheld is included with it, so it is not required to be purchased separately. This is an easier setup than I expected, thanks to changing the GPS baud rate to 4800, making all the connections, and connecting the GPS unit with external power. Changing the scanner's ZIP Code will automatically switch the scan list. Once you have the GPS locked, then you can change the scanner's ZIP Code. It is just a curiosity to see how it works. When it is working, you will see a GPS icon on the display and a blinking red LED on the GPS unit. There was more I expected, but I ended up doing nothing. It is possible for cables to collect clutter and are a problem for some people, but you can wrap them up and out of the way to avoid clutter. Inside, the visor does not need to be worn. In addition, it isn't necessary if you are located in the same area most of the time. You could also live with changing your ZIP code when you arrive at If you are someone who wants everything, then this is the one for you The time between traveling is limited. The price of the device annoyed me so much that I gave in when it hit around the $70 mark because I thought it was overpriced.
If you examine the picture carefully, that connector even does not match up to any connector on the Home Patrol 2.
The key to a good scan is this product. My scanner came alive after I installed the GPS device in my vehicle. Since then, I have been able to hear many more of my favorite stations. This unit includes plenty of wires and the wires are all connected to each other to give the joints an extra sense of security. As there is not much metal on my vehicle, I had to create an anchor point for the magnet so it would be able to attach to In spite of the GPS being heavy, the harness was connected securely to the scanner and did not cause any problems. Because the wires were too short to attach the GPS to the outside of the vehicle, I used 3M connectors to connect the wiring harness to the dash and to run the wires from the dash to the GPS. I had to move the GPS to another area of the car after I first connected it and it didn't receive in one part of the vehicle. Be sure to attach the disk to an open area of the vehicle.
There are no instructions that came with the GPS, so I had to watch the video on you Tube to learn how to use Comparatively speaking, it is relatively easy to set up, compared to a scanner.
It does work with this GPS system. One of the only things I dislike is the number of cables that must be used to get the GPS.
I bought it to use with my HomePatrol It works great, but the connection to the scanner is made from the flimsiest plastic you can find. The scanner will no longer be able to keep it plugged in once it breaks, as my scanner did. The rubber bands and a paperclip are currently being used. The replacement cable has just been ordered from Amazon. I give it five stars for functionality, five stars for gps signal, three stars for the wiring interface for a clean install since the plugs are bulky serial connectors, and four stars for overall build quality, minus two stars for the male port that goes to the camera scanner. All in all, I would buy all of it again since I just did it, but I do wish the company would update the design and quality.
I like the GPS system, but the interface plug is made from the flimsiest plastic. There's less than a month left and I have to invoke a higher power in order to keep it from falling out of the scanner or hold the whole To be fair, it is overall a well-designed product and it operates.
The two Uniden BCD996P2 scanners in my car are Uniden BCD996P2. Earlier this year, I bought a BC-36 By connecting a 9-pin to both scanners, the GPSK unit was able to get the signal from each scanner The serial pin configuration of the Y-serial cable It splits. Despite the problems, it Each scanner locks and unlocks groups and sites according to the settings I've made. It never occurred to me until I consulted the Uniden GPS receiver that the speedometer on the car was reading a few MPH too fast. I noticed that the speedometer on my car is 7% off-road. I noticed this after I pressed the GPS button on one of my scanners.
The program works well. I initially thought I received a defective product, but after letting it run for about a minute, the GPS worked with my Uniden Homepatrol 1 scanner without issue. Once the GPS has been initialized, it begins to operate instantly. Hence, if you are going to get this GPS, let it run for a few minutes first.
