Questions & Answers

How do I test this on a Baofeng? I don't know exactly which adapters I need. ?

Between both a transmitter and an antenna (or dummy load) is inserted this meter. To connect UHF SO- to SMA female, you will need a An adapter for the 239 as well as the cable to the meter are required. On Amazon, you can purchase all the adapters and cables you need. An adapter from DHT Electronics and a male to male SO-32 connector are recommended There is a 239 cable to connect the meter to the input. In addition to the UHF SO 239.1 connection from the meter output to the antenna or dummy load, you will need a UHF RF patch cable.

In the picture, it appears to come with the so239 connectors. Do you have them as well?

You can connect it to N by means of two adapters from SO239 to N.

Does the SWR/power accuracy of the cheap meters compare to the expensive ones?

The one I have is really nice. It seems to be a very good idea

Is there a female panel mount n connector I can buy?

Any type of adapter can be used for any type of device. A search for 'N' will bring up results The coupling is between women. *br>Narrowing down a metric means that this is affecting the unit measurable.

Although it appears to number the frequency correctly, I am no longer sure that I can trust the SWR readings as well
3/5

I noticed that after a few months of use the power reading would give false results. It was used to test wireless radios, and I became suspicious when all of them produced exactly the same amount of power. It seems that all of these readings give the same result when changing from 1 watt to 5 watts to 8 watts. Although it appears to number the frequency correctly, I am no longer sure that I can trust the SWR readings as well. You are better off with a MFJ than saving your money. However, they are much more durable and reliable as well as costing a lot more.

As claimed, this device is not compatible with the 220MHz ham band
3/5

The range is (125Mhz to The meter I ordered has received great reviews, has a cheap price, and is advertised as having Yet, the frequency coverage that's advertised clearly is not as accurate as it appears. There is no way that it is accurate for ham radio station activation on the 220Mhz band. The wattage and swr readings are both completely wrong. Coverage is claimed to be between 125 and 250 There is no way that 525Mhz can be On the 220MHz FM band, the only reading that was accurate was the receive frequency read out. In the 144 - I found it to be spot on In the 148 MHz and 440 MHz ranges The 450 MHz FM band is used by ham radio. This meter worked great on the bands above, but it's not suitable for my needs since I needed a meter with coverage on the 220Mhz band, but this one won't do! It would have received 5 stars if it wasn't for the bogus, misleading frequency coverage, which only earned it 2 stars. A refund will likely be given to me when I return the product.

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CONNECTION! The photos should have caught it, or the description should have said it, but I forgot I took a look at I'm sure a lot of other people have done the same thing

They were the two Ns An American to a South African If you have a PL-239 connector, the 239 ones should work well, but if you have a PL-239 connector there is one caveat In the case of 259 coming from the antenna, you will need either one N-type or two N-types I am a male looking for an (239 meter to In) and one meter to N A male to a One N-(OUT from meter) or a value of 259 I am a male looking for an The first is 239 (IN to meter) and the second is I am a male looking for an There is a $239 (which you get with this item) AND a 1-year lease The 259 will be submitted The jumper (259 jumper) is situated outside the meter. Otherwise, it would just be necessary to get a different set of adapters to and from N-type The male gender. There is only a PL-48 included, and I had to order a PL-48 to use on the other side. There was a 259 to PL-1 I won't be able to use this meter for at least another 2 or 3 days due to the 259 jumper. Double, no, triple check the jumpers and adapters you will need to travel to and from N. If you make the same mistake I made, don't make it. The male gender.

This is an amazing product
5/5

I regret not buying it earlier. How I did not purchase it sooner! This little bugger works perfectly. Due to my antenna being tuned 10MHz off, it showed a severe SWR issue. The transmission frequency is also displayed. According to the user manual, there is one issue If you transmit through an antenna, your power meter reading is accurate only if you connect it to a 50 Ohm terminator.

It's not a Bird
5/5

It's not a Bird, but it does the job extremely well at a very reasonable cost. The device does have N connectors. However, there is an adapter for SO-type connectors included in the package By plugging in a USB cable, internal batteries can be charged. Easy to follow and pretty minimal instructions, which is a good thing. There is a power meter, power reflected, a SWR meter, a frequency counter, and it measures power out. This device has a solid metal case (not drop-tested! A), covers 100-150 pages The unit is capable of handling 100 watts at 520 mHz.
I already own the RigExpert AA30, which I find to be amazing for HIGH FLOAT, but was too cheap to buy the AA170 or even Surecom will do the trick for my VHF/UHF needs, which is to check the SWR on a couple of antennas. In addition, I plan to build a 2m quadruple antenna, so it will certainly be needed for that. issue with this little meter is the fact that it doesn't do an SWR curve or have a program for plotting one, but these are really only minor issues. So get one of these meters and some graph paper and graph your curve. The meter is overall very well designed and I am very satisfied with it.

It is ridiculously inaccurate to take VSWR measurements
3/5

The power and frequency are credible, but SWR (VSWR) is stuck at 1 pretty much. One hundred ohms are read by a 50 Ohm load. This was expected to be 00. It should read 1 for a 61 Ohm load. There is also a 1 in place of 22. One antenna has a 1, and the other antenna has a 1*3 = 3. Count 1) with a needle. I am 01. To alleviate my frustration, I pressed open very briefly, which gave me a readout of It is 99, so I presume it is full size. It seems that something strange is happening - There's just nothing useful here. In addition to the symptoms, the replacement also had the same problem. Unfortunately, that's not possible. A little job like this would have sufficed and I'd have been happy with pretty much any level of There is a cross in the cross These would have been great in the field. Desk needles are great, but they are uncomfortable in the field.

I'm going to pay you fifty bucks
4/5

For a while, I have been considering getting a digital SWR meter to add to my MFJ-23 There is no reason for me to get a fancy digital broadband unit, as I only have an 893 analog meter. In exchange for $50, I will do half of what you ask It was expected that this would not In any event, after watching a demo video on YouTube and doing a bit of research, I decided to give it a try and I have no regrets. This would not be my sole meter-not without calibration against one that I knew to be accurate first The source works well, and I haven't owned it long enough to tell if it's drifting or not-but it offers an invaluable second reference when taking readings from a transceiver of doubt. One of the best things about this item is that it is the perfect size and weight to use with an HT connected via a N to SMA adapter, allowing you to use the radio as normally as you would. Handheld antennas can be adjusted to get accurate SWR readings at no additional cost by utilizing the SPBT method. Since most of the handheld gear I use does not have proper metering, I expect to use this quite a bit.
