Questions & Answers

With a bc75xlt, how far can it go?

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you enquiring about the antenna's length or how much it will boost the radio's performance? If the radio's range is a concern, extending the rod to about 18" will give it a better VHF high-band performance than the standard rubber antenna. It's usually not a matter of range, but rather of increasing the signal strength and readability of weak signals that already exist. If the station you're looking for broadcasts on the VHF low band (30-80 MHz), This antenna will outperform a standard rubber antenna on either FM (50 MHz) or CB (27 MHz). There are too many variables to make a definitive statement about improvement, but you can expect a 25 percent increase in most cases. improvement in range of 30 percentage percentage percentage When using a small handheld like the BC75XLT, keep in mind that this antenna is quite heavy due to its numerous sections. When placed on a flat surface, the radio is likely to topple over. When fully extended, it measures about four feet.

Is this compatible with the Midland 75 822?

Midland wins by 75 points. A CB radio is designated by the number 822. For Americans, this is 4w AM on a frequency of 27 to 28 MHz. That falls within the advertised range, but you should tune it carefully (and never change the length!). ) before using the radio to prevent it from overheating.

Is this compatible with a 27 MHz hand-held radio?

No, it might work on the transmitter side between 50 and 225 MHz, but it won't work on the UHF transceiver after I tried tuning that antenna with my antenna analyzer. However, it will work well on a receiver, a scanner, or a shortwave receiver picking up WWV on 10 MHz and 15 MHz with a strong signal, or shortwave broadcast radio stations with a strong signal, as well as local AM broadcast radio stations with a strong signal.

Is it compatible with the Radio Shack Pro 97 handheld? scanner?

It will work as long as your scanner has a bnc type connector. You'll need an adapter if you don't already have one.

Selected User Reviews For Anteenna TW-999BNC BNC Male Handheld Antenna Scanner Antenna (20-1300MHz) with BNC Male Connector for Scanner Radio and Frequency Counters

This antenna is suitable for use with a hand-held radio scanner or any other radio scanner
5/5

This was purchased to go with my Uniden hand-held radio scanner. It functions admirably. Perhaps there is a better one out there, but I haven't seen it. It performs admirably. I put it to the test against a few others and it came out on top. It takes the place of my rubber duck antenna, which did not perform well in my area.

The antenna is well-made and extends the range of the CB radio
5/5

Telescoping antenna with BNC connector that is well constructed. This adapter will work with any radio that has this type of connector. It extends to 48" and provides a good signal for a CB portable, especially when compared to the useless rubber antenna that comes standard with most CB portables. Also works well as a 1/4 wave whip for a 2 meter ham portable or a scanner, especially when listening on the low band (30 to 50 MHz).

This is fantastic! This is what I use instead of the Uniden SDS100's stock antenna
5/5

It's absolutely incredible. From a height of about 1100 feet, I can pull data from repeaters nearly 100 miles away.

Connection with a BNC cable
5/5

Because I live in a rural area with no analog state police, having an analog scanner serves only half of its purpose. As others have stated, it can elevate a handheld scanner to a new level. heavy. It works well without expanding if you listen to the 400 band. Extend the antenna about halfway out if you prefer listening to the 100 band. Extend it all the way out for even lower frequencies (i. e. listening in on truckers' CB radios). One thing I can say is that if you're next to another scanner, it reduces bleed overs. a feat that a standard antenna is incapable of.

I was able to use my portable radios
5/5

I have a Midland 75-pounder. The standard "rubber ducky" antenna was included with both the 785 and the Uniden Pro 401 HH. This limited them to line-of-sight communication and rendered them useless for car-to-car communication. I went for a walk after attaching these antennas. With only one radio in the house, I was able to communicate at a distance of 1/3 mile. Trees, other houses, and a small hill were among the obstacles that had to be overcome. I highly recommend this item. br>4 stars because the antennas on both radios don't fit as snugly as the stock antenna.

The signal is being drawn in! This pulls in some long-distance signals broadcast by fire departments in my area via repeaters
4/5

Because the antenna is quite tall and can be quite heavy when used with a hand-held unit, you must exercise caution when using it. Aside from that, it appears to allow more stations to be pulled in, but I wouldn't use it as a traveling antenna.

Uniden SDS100 is a perfect match
5/5

Perfect for my Uniden SDS100; however, be aware that when fully extended, the connection may become weak. But this isn't a flaw in the product; any extendable antenna would do the same thing.

Scanners will love it
5/5

On my Radio Shack Pro, I used this antenna. Scanner model number 91. Compared to the stock antenna, this is a significant improvement.
