Questions & Answers

The sensor stays on while the security system is disarmed, doesn't it? My radar detector, which is a Cobra, always goes off when the LED keeps blinking while I'm driving. ?

The answer depends on how you wire it, but if you ground it and have it powered while the car is running, then it will stay on all the time. I wired a relay in my case, whose contacts were closed when the accessory power was off when I connected it to the ground circuit. The ground circuit of the car was at DIS-after the car started (accessories on) There is no sensor connected and it is off.

What can I do if I want to install the ?

In my case, it was an alarm in the factory alarm system An additional pin is available on most alarm modules so that accessories can be connected. Whenever the sensor senses an increase in temperature, this sensor will use two pins for power (which comes from behind the dash cables) and the two following wires will trigger the alarm and warning systems. You should be able to use it.

Videos on YouTube demonstrate how one can add this function to a basic factory alarm and make it Is it possible for it to happen ?

It just plugs into DEI alarms and is ready to use. The connector can be removed, but you will need to wire it up by hand. I am power, I am ground, I am warning away, I am

Do you have to program it to work with a viper alarm or could you just plug it into the viper and it will work?

Plugging it in is all you need to do. Viper 5706v is ready to use with just a plug and play

A 20 year old version of this product that I had
4/5

In a nutshell, 20 years ago, I used this product on the alarm on one of my cars. Even twenty years after the company was founded, they are still having success producing great products. The OEM models are sensitive from the factory, so you will need to adjust based on the vehicle.

Movements and loud sounds exist on a thin line
4/5

This little sucker has a heart of gold. The pros include It is clear that this sensor does its job well. When you get as close as possible to the vehicle, a warning chirp indicates that the vehicle is protected. Additionally, I receive a signal from my remote that indicates that the warning signal has been activated. Cons Nice
A little difficult to turn. There are two screws for tuning and one carries a warning about being factory only while the other is for the user to choose. You may adjust it and feel happy with it so long as you don't get too comfortable with it, because later it may change. In order to give yourself a dual tone sensor nightmare, you have to keep it where you can reach it. The challenge is to get it to a level where it will effectively deter criminals while at the same time not be so sensitive that it will be set off by a loud car or helicopter. Because the two works interact so strongly with motion and sound, there is a fine line. Therefore, I found myself switching it to valet mode way too much. Since I was mostly on my own in a busy or loud area, I did not have an alarm to wake me up. The kind of show or concert you might go to. In the event that the alarm goes off frequently while you are away, you are taking a risk of getting stuck as your battery may die from the exaggerated use of the headlights and siren. My house is filled with this noise, and it is extremely annoying. Almost every day, the street lights are always going off on my street because cars are turning around frequently. Since I cannot get it to work, I stop using it until I figure out how to make it work. Having to deal with it has been a The story I have to tell is this. A lack of directions was evident. I had to throw that out of Well, that's life I guess.

This is not a reliable source
3/5

Random alarms seem to go off. THIS IS NOT A GOOD ITEM! One thing I can be sure of with this alarm is that it will drive my neighbors crazy at all hours. It doesn't work the way Nothing but trouble has come out of it. Based on the price I paid, I shouldn't have been so surprised at how little I paid. When you pay for something, you get what you paid Oh, and I think my Jeep's battery was fried by it too. default settings on the motion detection cop several times, to the point that you now have to be inside the car for it to be set But it keeps going off for no apparent The alarm sounds despite the fact that there is no motion in or around it, no animals, no people nearby, no rain, no wind, nothing for it to go off! There is no one in charge of it. There have been times when it goes off when a person is only five feet away. times, when I go inside the Jeep and sit down, I start fidgeting with things and the alarm does not sound. Leaving it in a warehouse parking lot at work while I was out of town on business for 3 days was the least I could do. So that nothing else would set it off, I made sure it wasn't near other cars. However, once I got back, I obtained complaints from workers that they heard the alarms going off at random day and night for three I had to replace my battery several days later when I discovered my battery was completely dead.

This is annoying
5/5

To my Clifford 5906x alarm, this sensor has been added. My program worked exactly how I expected it I heard chirps from it before it activated the alarm when it sensed motion close to my pickup. As a result, I was forced to go through a long series of pressings on a remote control every time I armed the pickup so this sensor would be disabled while the rest of the system remained This sensor just became too much of a hassle and I disconnected it because it was irritating The program does exactly what it should, and I can't think of a better review.

My wifi is disconnected from this unit if I am in the vicinity
3/5

To measure motion, the 508D uses a S-band microwave, and a A 4ghz WiFi connection will cause it to go Basically, anything that uses the 2GHz band will cause this to go You will find a lot of places to connect to wifi in apartments and there are plenty of devices compatible with 2Ghz. There are random, and sometimes constant, misfires caused by this. when the sensitivity is lowered so that it has a three foot range, the alarm will still go off if you are in proximity to any WiFi device. It can be turned off from anywhere if it is connected to my phone hotspot, such as from 10 feet away from the car. X-band motion detectors which can be used in commercial and residential locations are immune to most kinds of interference because they operate at 10GHz. It uses the older S Band technology, so you will have false triggers fairly often when using it. Sadly, I have not been able to find a motion detector for cars that uses X Band. It does not seem to be possible to detect motion in a car right now.

I want you to read this, owners! The ones who are bombarded by false alarms like crazy while no one else is around
4/5

As soon as you get out of the car, give the sensor at least 7 seconds Do not arm until you have waited for 10 seconds! The sensor takes average measurements so that it can compare itself to the measurements it takes when it is armed. It will chirp randomly and frequently if you arm it too quickly, as it compares measurements to when the door was open, and since the door has been closed, it is comparing measurements to when it was open! This is now much more reliable now that I've figured this out! As of now, my only false alarm is when I lock the car, which is followed by heavy rain. If it rains on the windows, the rain will activate the ultrasonic sensor, resulting in a change in distance to objects. Unless the sensitivity is lowered to a point where the sensor becomes useless, there is no way around it. Would you mind telling me what the answer is? It is a good idea to include a toggle switch on the signal wire to the alarm so that if it is to rain on that night, the alarm can be disabled It is a RAD sensor. Whenever you live, it helps you like crazy. A group of people from the Bay Area are in San Jose, California. Theft of cars is something I've experienced in the past. The thieves I caught trying to steal my 240sx are now caught! Using this with a dash cam that records on motion and a two-way alarm system that can send you alerts would be ideal. I love it.

The viper 5706v works great with this product
5/5

A great product that is compatible with the Viper 5706V. You can literally plug it in The perfect adjustment for sensetivity is still a work in progress. The doors on a Jeep can be removed with this magnet. A video might be in order.

You can't go wrong with this addition to your car at any price
5/5

Adding an alarm to your home is a great idea. There is a plastic cover over the stick shift next to the two front seats, so I placed it under that. Working perfectly, it's a great tool. It is very important to protect the car from getting broken windows by detonating the warning or full alarm before getting broken the window. Several years have passed since it began working. In the event that the doors are left open (e. g. If you are going to the car to get stuff from it), the "safe" areas grow wider, making it even harder for people to approach.
