As long as those blue light dots are on, you shouldn't have a problem. the battery plugged in to prevent it from draining too quickly.
If I am understanding correctly, I am asking the same question. I'm running into an issue where as soon as I unplug the power cable and switch to the D3 battery base power, the Dot stops working and has to restart. Unplugging my laptop from its charger and watching it reboot would be like unplugging my computer and then watching it turn off. Is it just me who is suffering from this issue or does everyone else suffer from the same issue.

It was charging for 8 hours before use, so I made sure that it would be 100% before using it. It turned off every 10 minutes after that. I don't know what to do with it, and it shuts off suddenly. It was the worst experience I have ever had!.
First off, every time I put the battery back in, my echo dot reboots. I'm not sure if this is a design flaw or a faulty product. I find it a bit annoying, but not sufficiently so that I would take any action to change The dot stopped working about 10 minutes after being powered by the battery, even if the battery was fully charged (all 4 LEDs were lit). A few days after my return window had closed, the dot would shut off after about 10 minutes of use. It's not uncommon for the tot to come back on after pressing the power button in the battery base and function normally for another 10 minutes before shutting down. Afterward, I plugged the dot directly into an outlet and it worked fine for hours, which means the dot is not *Now basically I have a battery powered base that reboots my Dot so it won't get unplugged, and then shuts it down after every 10 minutes when not connected. I was able to get everything to work when plugged in, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the product.
I've tried contacting the manufacturer before writing this review in hopes that they will take care of the problem before I am still waiting for a reply since it has been 3 days since I sent them an email. I now have a faulty product that cannot be returned, and terrible customer service.
We really like this product as well as the excellent customer service we receive from GGMM. You can finally say goodbye to those portable speakers since I can now bring my Echo Dot 3 to the beach or golf course with this battery. Using either my Bluetooth connection or my personal hotspot, I can connect my phone to the Internet. The overall grade for this project is A+. Besides being long-lasting, the battery looks good and it is exactly what you need for the Amazon Echo Dot 3 since its speaker is great. It was cluttering up my full house with a variety of portable speakers, and now there is no need for them. GGMM, thank you for your kind words.
As a result I bought this when I would not have electricity to listen to music on the road but still be able to talk to Alexa. I was unable to use it on the first try because the battery died. It did not work at all on my second attempt, thought it might not be After some negotiating with my manager, we were finally able to sit down and talk about the problem. Alexa has no response when plugged in but will respond when unplugged while sitting on the charging unit. I contacted Amazon customer service to check if there was anything I was doing The man understands nothing about what he talks My instructor told me it needed to be plugged in if it wasn't working unplugged. OH NO, the device is not meant to be used in this way. As I am returning and receiving a replacement, I will give it one more go before I decide whether it works or not. I will ask for a refund if this does not work.

This is our favorite feature! Having a hard time figuring out which daughter has 'borrowed' it when I'm ready to take MY tunes on the poolside or to the garden is my only problem. I may purchase one (or two) more of these!.
On warm days, when I'd just like to kick my feet up and listen to whatever I was listening to in the house, this is perfect for sitting out on the patio. Since it's outside, I can get Alexa on the phone at any time just like I do on the inside of the house when I have I have a lot of fun with it and it works out well.
