The program works well, but I'll explain in the review how to work around a major bug
4/5

As you can see, I used to own this exact model years ago. A few weeks ago, the screen went blank and the player no longer played tapes for no apparent reason. That's all there is to it. There is nothing. We had a friend take a look at it and he couldn't find anything wrong so we scrapped it.
But now the problem has been solved. My tapes had not been played for 5 years, so I bought this to get them playing again. I was happy with how things were going. My birthday party was a "throwback" party, as I checked out footage I had not seen in many years, much of which was shot before the earlier machine I mentioned I'm going to be honest. This part is There are machines that change resolution on you when you least expect it. Depending on the resolution contained on the tapes you load into the machine, it changes its resolution. In fact, you will be able to witness it for yourself as your HDMI monitor will update to the new resolution when you place a 720 or 480 tape in. *twig*It's fine. (I find it annoying that they claim to uphold the rule I wasted days looking for a setting in the menu that I could find but did not find it. When you convert natively to 1080i, but not now, you probably do not need to, unless there is a setting hidden somewhere in the menu. don't be confused by the 1080i on the machine case. It actually means it goes up to that resolution, instead of staying
This note is for individuals like myself who, after using the HDMI port to capture, all of a sudden see their machine DISAPPEAR from their capturing software. The machine hasn't stopped working you just have to change the capture software's resolution so it matches the tape. In the late 1980s, these machines were worth If Sony had sold products at that price, you would have thought the manual would have made a very bold statement that the quality of your output depends on the tape you use. Anyway, let's not get too carried away. scratching my head for two days I finally figured out the problem and learned that I had to change the resolution in Vegas capture so each tape would match. The situation has remained the same ever Here we are. I'm going to talk about the BUG now. (This was not a bug, but some irritating Sony nonsense the buyer should know about. I put an OLDER tape, shot in 2005 on a Standard Definition camera (a Canon DV camera) and had it converted to 43 at 720x480 in the following format For about a half hour, everything was fine with the 3 ratio. As I captured along, everything appeared to be in order. Then, all of the sudden, It was blank screen, no sounds, and there was no sound of the internal tape even playing. Again, it was a flashback to the 2013 nightmare! As I was packing this machine up and sending it back to Amazon, I was getting ready to return it. The PI** was on me!
What's the point of mucking with this machine for two days to get it to talk to my tower and to keep the connection? Is it because the resolution changes After a long day, I had exhausted myself. That is the same issue that I had in 2013 and I resolved never to buy another one of these machines in the future. It happened, however, in a strange way. The video tape that I had captured on earlier was 720x480. I took it out and tried a 720P HD video I had captured earlier. There's no sign of anything happening. There was no sound coming from the tape and I was unable to hear what was going on. I want my $500 back as soon as possible because I'm returning this to Amazon. I watch my damn screen for about 10 minutes before it pixelates and then it takes off again.
It turns out that tape plays just fine and we're back up and running! Is that right? Is there a lesson to be learned from this As this machine has multiple playback heads and such heads must move to accommodate different tape resolutions, my best guess is that it may be a case of multiple heads shifting as a result of this. As the heads jump from SD to HD to 1980 HD, etc, this indicates that the machine's mechanisms contain a flaw or a bug that can temporarily throw the heads off track. There is no way to actually hear that the tape is still going, it I know it's not fair, but it is. Additionally, the head is attempting to align itself back to its normal position, which means the older formats are being ignored. I was able to get back on track as things proceeded normally only because I had accidentally LEFT playing the tape I could not see, again one I knew it had played correctly earlier (it eventually realigned the heads after around 10 minutes), and I did not do anything wrong. You should use older 720x480 SD tapes at your own risk, so the moral of the story would be to avoid using them.
Wouldn't you do it if you could? Unless you are ready for the machine to go completely DARK, don't attempt this. It appears that he will be dead, but not really! Rewind the HD tape until realignment occurs. Remove the HD tape, replace it, rewind the tape again and let it roll until realignment occurs. It would have been helpful to know this workaround back when we lost $1000 in 2013. * This is the last clue that this is going on. You will notice along the way with every tape that you will occasionally have BUMPS in the playback, which can be quite a hassle when trying to do so. Initially they will be present during the first few seconds of playback, then they will smooth out. It has taken me more than a few times to rewind and capture these spots. I also noticed that the AUDIO does not always bump when this happens, just the VIDEO image, which again indicates that there is something wrong with the My guess is that perhaps in the case of SD tapes, the head was bumped and realigned incorrectly to that of HD tapes. This is a MAJOR issue with the machine, and I am deducting two stars for it. However, I do not hold it against the seller. We had similar problems with this machine back in 2013, so I wish we had just put in an HD tape and let it roll until it came back to life instead of scrapping it.
I am still accomplishing what I purchased the machine for, and that has made the frustrating issues worthwhile.

This is an excellent product
5/5

The only one which saves the innards of my camcorder! Although it is a costly unit, it is nowhere close to the cost of monitor/load systems that function in the same way. There is no need to install anything. It works out of the box and I use it to review materials. I then switch over to my Mac and load up in my editors. Using this method, I am able to protect the mechanisms in my video cameras (some of which cost more than $3500) from constant abuse, and I can carefully select the videos that I want It's true that in an earlier review Sony was criticized for not including a 1394 cable, but it's pretty common for manufacturers to do so, so it won't really matter. In addition, there is the problem of 4 The number 4 or 4 With HD700, you have four screens to choose from Take a picture of pin The only problem is that my MAC is a 6 I must have the 4-pin pin in order to obtain the pin The 6 pin plug). As a whole, this is a very cost-effective product that can do a lot more than I'm ever going to need, but will fit the needs of anyone using a mini-computer If you have a digital video camera You can tape HDDV to a computer. We give you five stars with no reservations!.

You have a HD TV with amazing quality
5/5

My home entertainment system does not provide a way to hook up my camera, so I wanted a way to play DV and HD DV tapes from my collection. You shouldn't hesitate to pick up a Sony Video Walkman. It is hooked up via a DVI cable and I can watch it on my TV with HD DV in high definition. In addition to editing my tapes, I've also used it with good results. portable and compact and can extract photos from your videos. One of its great features is its ability to extract still images from video. In my opinion, this device is quite useful and well engineered. If you use a DV camera and are a serious video photographer, you should buy this device.

The Sony Walkman GVHD700 can be used as a digital video camera
5/5

In order to edit video, I purchased the Walkman to use as a DVCAM. The biggest problem for me was getting the score of 4. The cable must be converted to a 6pin FireWire cable
to be used with a Macintosh compatible device.
The cables provided by Sony do not work on Macs. It took 25 days for the J + R personnel to find the correct solution. Sony provided no advice, so the process of researching and solving the problem took 25 days. In order to get help, I had to ask the staff at the TV station.

Now it works great.
