Selected User Reviews For Sony MZ-N707 Net MD Walkman Player/Recorder (Blue)
In advance of the film's release, I posted a short review but wanted to elaborate a bit. Midwest Media Supply was the place I bought my unit. I had to say that it was used/as new, as it was advertised. Were the item in the original packaging, you could have convinced me of its newness! In fact, it is absolutely perfect - I had a Sony Minidisc when they first came out and I have a recording of my son laughing on a Minidisc. A few years later, I had a couple dozen Minidisc albums including my son's recording. Fast forward 15 years and I still have as many as I had back then. It was disappointing to be unable to find the player anywhere, and I was hurt by not being able to play the recordings. As a result, I began looking for a player that would work so I could hear that laughter At Midwest Media Supply, I was able to find the perfect unit. It arrived a week earlier than I thought it would and it is really great! As I listen to the sweetest sound I've ever heard, my baby boy laughing, I now hear the sweetest sound I have ever heard!.
There are about 150 mini-games in my collection As it lasted, it was great, but its condition led to it not lasting very long and it is now no longer worth anything. I only received the player since there were no accessories with it. Thank goodness I had some from a previous model I had bought new when they first came out. It never recorded very well I wish the materials were more rugged but they are very delicate. I received the player but none of the accessories. If I can afford one, I will look for a model that is more rugged but will still do everything it is expected to do. But like I said, it was a great station until it went out of business.
Millennials are the generation that has adopted the MiniDisc as their 8-track There are tracks. I am going to give you some advantages of the digital world. The gadget I purchased was great!.
My account worked fine when I first got it, but I am not able to access it.
A very good condition was present with the product. Although I did not receive the cable or headphones stated on the packaging to be included, the item is still working fine.
Contacts and the inside plastic were covered in the liquid. There is no power to the md player whatsoever. It will not even turn on when you plug in the AC Could this not have been.
Sony could be on the right track if it continues to stay relevant in the mp3 segment, but one wonders if that's even the case We live in a digital music centric I believe something like NetMD would have been fantastic three years ago, when USB-based computer systems were still the norm The adoption of computers that could read and write floppy disks started to gain traction before the advent of hard disks and CD-ROMs It took several months for the price of ripping and burning music to decline enough so that rippers and burners could be more affordable. It might have been more appealing, then, to be able to record up to five hours of music onto a single, (relatively) inexpensive minidisc. Even if the NetMD technology is out of date, it is still incredibly useful. Using one of the three compression settings, you can directly transfer digital content, such as imported mp3/wma or audio CDs, to minidisc. The full-range of services that SP offers There is no bore setting, but it allows for a long disc running time of 80 minutes, and the sound quality is excellent. The resulting files are compressed through "lossy" methods, like the mp3 format, but to my damaged ears, they sound at least as good as CDs. Recordings made with LP2 have doubled the storage time, but the increased compression makes them sounded I think it's almost as good as a 160kbps CBR The LP4 format almost quadruples the storage capacity, but as you might expect, the sound quality is very bad. It is comparable to an uncompressed 128kbps (or lower) CBR The fourth album of the Beatles is pretty much a lost cause for rock, but it's actually passable for hip-hop This is most likely applicable to hip-hop and spoken word (and to most electronica, but I have not tested it).
In terms of transferring existing mp3/wma content, I recommend against it (I know, it pretty much cancels out the hype surrounding With the included OpenMG Jukebox (or as some people refer to it as the OMFG Jokebox), I have converted a batch of 160kbps cbr mp3's to SP and LP2. The sound quality on SP's network is comparable to that of its original, but the content's transfer to MD takes almost as long as the length of the video. There is a faster transfer rate in LP2, if you disregard the processor’s speed- In LP2 mode, OMFG Jokebox is very heavy, but the sound quality drops off. OMFG Jokebox has been cited as notoriously unstable, so I don't recommend it. I have read that this is the case. So far I have successfully installed it on two separate Windows 2000 Pro machines, and I am feeling so lucky that I am going to buy a lottery ticket when I'm done reviewing it. However, I have been using the Net MD Simple Burner program to transfer audio CD content directly to MD (mostly in LP2 mode, with some LP4 however, for some odd reason, SP does not seem to be available as a transfer mode! My collection of music CDs has started to build up so that I can take them to the gym or to the park, and from there, it's just This CD- player has a compact form factor, high skip resistance, durable media, and long battery life. Basically, it has all the factors that most CD players have. These are not true for R/W mp3 players (especially the 3" types). My initial reaction is to agree, Sony has still messed with the Minidisc once again, including questionable software. But I am still able to use NetMD, so all is not lost. If you have any questions or stories to share, don't hesitate to write to me.
