Unlike other foot controls, the Infinity USB has 3 switches. It is connected to a program called MusicReader which I use to play acoustic piano or keyboard. I also use it to advance or reverse electronic sheet music pages (PDF). Infinity pedals do not appear to work with MusicReader. In this case, I installed a free application called Pedable from NCH Software to help me assign functions to pedals. Using this, you can interact with the software running in your computer via keyboard and mouse clicks. There are three switches on the pedal, so you can configure three different commands from your computer (see the Note from the To control sheet music pages in MusicReader in my configuration, I usually use only two of these three Hold CTRL+PgUp and CTRL+PgDn simultaneously to maneuver page up and down. The Pedable application for iTunes allows you to easily emulate keyboard controls (Space Bar, CTRL+, etc.) It only has three switches, but they're all in the same place. My expectation is that you will find it useful. The following is to be noted You can emulate the functionality of the keyboard and mouse by using foot pedals with Pedable software. On top of that, Pedable can also bind certain predefined application commands to a With Pedable, you can configure the foot pedals to control any software that runs on your computer, whether it is a word processor, a game, or a media player. The following features are available * Simulate key presses* Simulate mouse clicks* Insert custom text* Run
Transcribing is what I have been doing for five years with this model. There has been a glitch on it twice. Once it needed to be cleaned by removing four screws on the bottom and using canned air to blow out dust. Yesterday, it gave me problems after updating the OS to Windows 10. There was a pause in its response time. Plugged into a USB Hub, I had it connected to it. The problem was solved when I directly connected the device to my laptop. The reason I was puzzled was I'd had it plugged into the hub for years, but it works again now that I have it unplugged from the hub.
As far as a Mac is concerned, I have not tried it. Therefore, I apologize that I cannot assist you. The pedal works great as long as you find it to be effective. This is my first attempt at a video It is best to pedal first. A difference cannot be drawn because infinity is at a perfect angle and does not slide across the Pedal of the year
Selected User Reviews For Infinity USB Digital Foot Control with Computer Plug (in-USB2)
The pedal is made of solid and sturdy material. The weight is very heavy and responds to light pressure very well. I like that it's easier than using hot keys for transcribing a transcript. It took me a little practice to figure out which commands on my old MacBook matched up with play and rewind, but once I figured that out, the setup process was effortless. Thank you for this purchase. I am very pleased with it. Thanks for reading this review. Please let me know if it was helpful to you.
There have been times when it doesn't work or disconnects during use. I have updated There is no longer any connection to the internet. I had a problem with it starting working for a few months then it would disconnect and reconnect, but today it no longer works. The plug has to be unplugged and plugged back in every minute. A 20-second period of operation is followed by a disconnect. I do not think it is an issue with my computer or USB. The foot pedal is what you need. This is not a product I'd recommend purchasing. If you want to go with a different pedal, I suggest you do so. A year is not long enough for this type of work, and it seems that it isn't just a one-off situation. Most people seem to face this problem at some point in their lives.
Despite clearly stating on Amazon's product page that this product has a "complete and unconditional guarantee," this product eventually loses USB connection to your computer, and the seller (Executive Communications Systems) will not honor the stated guarantee. I would expect a product to last more than a year and a half for $60.
I have updated In the hope that someone else experiencing my problem will find this update useful, I am updating this review while leaving the original review at the bottom of this page. In a phone call I received from the seller's customer service, they suggested that my usb hub or port might not be functioning correctly. As a result of the seller's help, the foot pedal now works on another computer as well. I appreciate that they responded so quickly, and I am revising the review to reflect that. Thank you for helping me, I really appreciate it! I'll be re-reading this old review It has been less than a month since I purchased this pedal, and now my laptop and desktop won't even acknowledge As far as the control panel is concerned, it seems to be functioning well. I got it working on my computer, but when I try to use the foot pedal, it won't work. The footpedal is the same one I have been using for more than five years, so it is not operator error. Originally I ordered one that had the same problem, and I have ordered another one now. It has taken less than a month since I've had the new one to develop the same problem. It is unlikely that I will be able to return this item unless I hear back from the seller by Monday afternoon.
In order to use this pedal with my MacBook, as it is listed as being OS X compatible, I bought it. Initially, I intended to use it with some of the more basic software, such as Currently, there is no native way to use this device in OS X, but there is a way to use it with dedicated software A program such as ExpressScribe Pro (the free version will not work) can be built to perform transcriptions. You cannot access any of this information outside of the software in OS X. Here are some things that do not Trying to find an OS X driver on the manufacturer's website. I have not been successful. This bike is pedable. This utility can be used in many ways - here are a few suggestions There is nothing wrong with it just that it is Windows-based The only exception. ControllerMate is a product of Microsoft. As far as I can tell, the foot pedal cannot be controlled there.
* This is the same as before. I learned that unlike every other USB input device (keyboards, mice, trackballs, gamepads, etc. ), this foot pedal does not display itself as an HID input device. Although OS X has detected it - the pedal is not shown on the System Monitor. A USB device called the "VEC Foot Pedal" is listed as an unknown device in the USB devices section of the System Report. The person has no clue how to interact with the machine. No response could be observed on OS X when pressing any of the pedals. You will need a specially tailored program unless you are already using it. The bottom line This device is compatible with Mac OS X ONLY when combined with software packages that communicate with the pedal in a non-standard way You can use a foot pedal for any other purpose if you want, but it has to be standard, proprietary protocol. The iTunes Store is one such example If not, then try somewhere else.
