No, this device does not work with an AC power source. Wishing you a pleasant day.
Only cassette tapes are played on this one. For CDs, you want to go with something unique, and I believe there are plenty of options.
I understand that it can play standard tapes, but I'm not familiar with metal tapes. Sorry.
Yes. It includes the headphones shown in the advertisement. Mine is one of my favorites.

Back in the 1970s, when I was in college, I was engrossed in music. The cassette player was my first choice. I first learned about the Walkman at that time. It was the first and best of the cassette players that came after it. br> However, I was on a tight budget. A Walkman was out of my price range. So for years, I had to make do with off-brand players that were of poor quality and had numerous flaws. Colby, and that God-awful Godawful Godawful Godawful Godawful God Jensen was so bad that I ended up throwing my money away. Until Amazon offered me the one, the only, the first and best of all cassette players, I felt trapped in "cassette player hell. " The Walkman from Sony. I felt ecstatic. It piqued my interest, and I leapt at the opportunity. For the first time in over 30 years, I'm hearing true high-quality stereo sound from both the radio and the tape I inserted. br> Yes, this is exactly what I'm looking for in true stereo music. The Walkman, it appears, has been discontinued by Sony. It's a pity, but that's true. I intend to purchase a back-up camera. player who is currently playing I recommend getting a Sony Walkman for anyone who is still using cassette tapes and isn't interested in Ipods or other new technology. while they're still brand new and available 'Cause once they're gone, there'll be nothing left. They're no longer available.
I enjoy listening to language tapes, as well as talk radio on AM and NPR on FM. This walkman is ideal for your needs. The sound quality is excellent, and the tapes are easy to play. The tapes also benefit from the rewind option. When I used my higher-priced earphones, I noticed an improvement in sound quality. The provided earphones, on the other hand, were adequate. It's a little bigger than I'd like, but it fits in most shirt pockets and pants pockets. It comes with a protective case that provides adequate protection (I dropped mine several times while walking and the protective case prevented any damage). Preparing for the event takes some time. Stations are established. However, if you're interested in computers and the like, you'll probably be fine (I'm an old baby boomer, so it could be me). The manual control is fine if you don't want to preset stations, and this model also has a separate button for the government weather channel; Overall, if you listen to the radio and listen to casettes, this is a good buy for the money.
There was a minor snag. I ordered two Sony Walkmans that were identical. I, on the other hand, worked with two different companies. One of them worked flawlessly, and I had no issues with it. When I put new batteries in the other, it didn't work at all; my problem was that I didn't check to see which vendor the faulty item was purchased from, so I couldn't say who the faulty Walkman came from. It isn't a major issue, though. I've been using Sony Walkmans for decades because I'm a runner who likes to record my favorite music to listen to while running. When I'm out running, I like to listen to music on my Sony Walkman. Nonetheless, I recently upgraded how I record music and now use the Eclipse MP3 music player to do so. I'm having fun with the new technology, and I've even figured out how to make my own personal playlists. There's no need to be concerned about the Walkman that isn't working properly. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me.
I listen to a wide range of classical music and opera, many of which are very long works, and I prefer a cassette tape player to a portable CD player because of its versatility and, frankly, often superior sound quality (I make my own tapes). For my type of listening, pods are inconvenient trash with poor sound quality. Anyway, I bought the Sony as a back-up to my second-to-last Panasonic player, which, by the way, came with some of the best headphones ever made at any price. because all of these products only seem to last me a day or two The Sony headphones that come with the product, of course, are best used as a cat toy or thrown away after 2 years. However, when using different headphones, the sound quality appears to be nearly as good as my Panasonic. The battery cover is inconvenient and clearly fragile; Sony portable players have always had at least one fatal flaw that causes them to fail prematurely. It used to be the extremely weak and vulnerable headphone jacks, but now it's the battery cover - I believe it is due to planned obsolescence. br>br>However, as far as I am aware, Sony is the only company still producing portable cassette tape players, and I sincerely hope they continue to do so. I have a sizable and valuable tape collection that I intend to listen to for at least the next 20 years. Approximately 30 years. Sony deserves a lot of credit for what they've accomplished.
The package arrived on time. br>However, there is a hole in the package. I'm not convinced it's truly new. The only problem is that this is all there is to it.
The AM/FM headphones on this tape player sound fantastic. A Bass Boost option is also available. With the push of a button, it switches from AM to FM to Cassette player. With the press of a button, you can change radio stations. The fact that there are so many presets is fantastic. It runs on a single AA battery that lasts for nearly a week. I take a small external Philips brand speaker with me when I go camping - it plugs right in. It's ideal for unwinding after a long hike without being tethered to your music by a headphone cable. This is the second Sony Walkman that I've purchased. My first one lasted 5 years before being accidentally dropped on some rocks. br> I adore my Walkman, and I'm sure you will as well! It's available for purchase on Amazon. Yes, I would suggest Sony WM- Any buyer seeking the best Cassette player on the market should consider the FX290W Walkman. br> Steven M - br> Steven M - br> Steven M - 19 February 2014, Washington State.
This walkman has a lot of great features, especially when compared to other walkmans. I would have given it five stars if there was a place to plug in an adaptor to save on batteries, but it only requires one. Also, the clip is not built into the Walkman itself, but rather on a case that Sony includes with the Walkman, and fitting the Walkman into the case is a little tight. Instead, I simply carried the Walkman in my pocket. It's fun to play and has a great sound.
Can't beat the price on this item; they're so hard to come by these days, and I've never been a fan of the other models. Thank you very much!.
