Questions & Answers

What are the recording capabilities of the device?

It is possible to record minidiscs on the player's internal disc. This is what it says in the company blurb You can record MP3s and CDs at up to 100x faster speed with this product You can transfer your music directly from your PC to a Hi-Fi With the MD Walkman recorder, you can record up to 100x faster. The only thing I'm not sure about is live recording with it. I have never tried it. While this player is generally excellent at playing tracks, I've found it to be slow to respond to commands in general. It is also a bit challenging to see the displays. I suppose I was not overly disappointed with the price, but I haven't used mine for quite a while.

MZNH600D from Sony
4/5

A lot of information about the Hi-Tec had been read by me The MD format piqued my interest, so I wanted to see it While shopping for this device I didn't notice that the model does not have a microphone, nor do you have any way to plug a microphone into it! Buying twice is a good rule of thumb, so I'd say. me, that eliminates at least half of the utility of such a device, but I'm to blame for not knowing that before I purchased it. *Are the 4 stars justified?

Why does it get 4 The game is awesome for me as a player. It is a high-speed train The MiniDisc format is everything I have read, I cannot for the life of me figure out why Sony isn't doing more to promote it. I'm not that fond of SonicStage (I think Sony did improve it, but it seems to be better than I expected) but the Japanese lessons are interesting nonetheless It sounded absolutely wonderful when I put it on the disc. While the interface on this machine is kind of clunky, most Japanese lessons won't require you to ferret too much about anyway since you won't be too frequently fishing around. In terms of just a player, this little booger is a favourite of mine. Some users report 34+ hours of battery usage I was wondering if that was true for me There is no doubt in my mind. In addition, there is the Hi-Fi There is nothing better than MD format. The machine I'd like to have would ideally be a more versatile machine where Hi-Res video can be played I used an MD, which we could easily record things, move files around under Linux, and play back OGGs and so on. The machine in front of you is not Sony is keeping it too limited, and that is due to their iron fist. Shame on you. A mic jack, along with some software tweaks, would turn this into a great machine I would enjoy for years to come. Having come to the end of my experiment, it might be headed to Goodwill now. Thank you Ship2you, it reached me in 2 days thanks to you! Oh, and I ordered it from your company (ship2you) and they delivered it in a timely manner! It was wonderful) and everything went fine.

The player is incredible, but the software is average
4/5

Having had mine for a little over two weeks now. There is a lower battery life than netmd players, but this was to be expected. The included headphones are of poor quality. I'm amazed by the amount of storage. I am on my first. With a 2gig computer, the transfer with conversion to the AtracIIIplus program takes about 5 minutes per cd, which is very good. Most of all, I have been surprised by the amount of data storage that this thing offers. As a result, I sometimes find it hard to upload large files I need at school or work using my slow Internet connection. With the player I can put my files on a HD disc at home, take it to school and plug it in to any computer (windows XP) and it automatically recognizes it as an external harddrive! that amounts to a very affordable 1gig+ portable harddrive! It's evident that AtracIIIplus at 64kbps is rated slightly better than 128k MP3 in blind tests, and I completely agree with this. This CD player, which comes with 32 cd's, has a very nice sound quality for listening to mostly classical music with a little rock mixed in. It'll save you some money more than mere looks and headphones, should you choose it over an Ipod, as I did.

You cannot listen to music any other way
5/5

Use of HiMD is a premium choice because it offers 1 gigabyte of capacity and ATRACplus codec. Media on the device is removable, making it even more appealing than a standard hard disk or flash drive. If your hard drive or flash player breaks or if the battery fails, you won't be able to access any of your music. On the other hand, you always have a mini-computer you can use A disc. The life of a minidisc is longer than that of a CD. It has happened to me at least twice in the last two years that CDs were corrupt. A minidisc has a longer shelf life than a CD. In the Sony case, minidiscs are rewritable a million times, and they also act as hard disc drives, which means you can rearrange or delete the music or data stored on them. Sony has made HI MD minidiscs the only portable format for listening to music ever since the advent of the format.

It is based on Sony's MZ-CD

Please let me know your thoughts on the N600D. A brand new unit was delivered and is ready for use This item is sealed in its original packaging with a free music download card The installation CD is used to transfer music to the computer and play it You can do it on a computer. As most minidisc players have been discontinued, it is difficult to find brand new ones. My jaw dropped when I saw the results!.

Please do not use this drive as a data store
3/5

As a long-time user of Sony's minidisc equipment, I have a lot of experience with the company's products. This program has a nice removable media feature that I especially like. My media library can contain a whole CD for about $3 if I copy the whole thing onto one regular minidisc. Compared to the early units, the later ones appear to be In recent years, the units have appeared to be poorly constructed. An inherent flaw of media that spins is that it has to remain static during use. This is one of the weak points of the read/write heads because they must move back and forth across the media. To connect the read/write head, there is a tiny ribbon cable. I am sure this cable will fail at some point. It may be 6 months, it may be 3 years, but it will occur at some point. If this happens, you will receive the famous "BLANKDISK" error code when you insert your CD. Regardless of what data was on the disc, it will be deleted. You won't experience a great loss using the minidisc if you use it exclusively for music, but in this case it's a disaster if you want to back up data (as I used to). On minidisc forums, I made a search and discovered that it happened to other people as well. My data backup was on minidiscs because the 300MB discs cost $3 and were perfect for my purposes. Since I lost valuable data, I have put all three of my units in a drawer along with dozens of recorded and blank discs. This item is probably never going.

A great piece of hardware, an awful piece of software (even the latest version 3
3/5

I am in awe of the hardware. This isn't anything to be grumpy about. There are many good things about the SonicStage 3 It sounds great, has a great battery life, etc. I was hoping that it would be all of these. I had assumed that 0 would take care of some of the problems of the older releases, however that There is a lot of difficulty with the software especially if you have a large collection of music in your collection. Every time I make a small change in the database, it seems to have to redo it. It has been a very disappointing experience. A 5 star rating would be given to the hardware, and a 0 star rating for the software.

I love it! I like this speaker
5/5

I like how easy it is to use. I also like how the battery life is good! There is no problem with the software and it is extremely simple. I'm not sure why it is proving so difficult for people. It's awesome to have a 1GB disc. I have updated The device has been in my possession for over 2 years It is easy to use and the submenu and shuffle function, plus an equalizer, is what makes this a perfect product. A new generation of SONY equipment I'd like to see more of these, they're.
