My old cassettes have played without a hitch. There is no on/off switch for the sound. Are you certain the issue isn't with the tape itself? If the cassette plays on another device without a problem, the player is defective.
Both yes and no! br>While this model can record FM to cassette, it cannot do so in stereo. It's a cassette recorder and player in monochrome.
On Jensen's MCR- 75, the headphone output is stereo and the speaker output is mono (there is only one speaker).

It's a well-made product that's well worth the money.
SUMMARYbr>A well-written essay is a well-written essay that is well-written and well-written. Although it looks and feels better than it sounds, it is a well-built (in comparison to other new personal cassette players) device that does the job. A person will be satisfied with their purchase if they have realistic expectations. br>br>BEST APPLICATION- CASE STUDYbr>I have an Ion Boombox Deluxe that I use as my primary cassette player, but I needed something in a walkman format. There was no need to use headphones because of the style form factor. That's where this Jensen player comes in. I can pack a few tapes and the player into a carry case, sit in the backyard, relax, and listen to music. br>br>Unfortunately, there are no new high-quality personal cassette players on the market. It doesn't get much better than this. Some people recommend buying a vintage walkman, but that comes with its own set of problems: worn or stretched belts, capacitors that have swelled and no longer function, worn/oxidized volume knobs that produce scratchy audio, and worn headphone jacks, to name a few. br>br>BUILD QUALITYbr>The Jensen player/recorder is heavier than the alternatives and feels substantial. The black rubberized body has a premium feel to it, and the buttons are solid and well-placed. labeled. When the telescoping antenna is not in use, a small tab on the body keeps it securely stored. br>br>MONO AUDIObr>I'm not sure if other reviewers got a different model, but mine didn't come with a stereo record/playback head. The silver rectangle on the head is divided into two thinner rectangles, indicating that the head is stereo. A single silver rectangle decorates the head of this Jensen. br>br>This isn't necessarily a show-stopper because it only has one speaker. stopper. When using stereo earbuds, both the left and right sides produce mono sound. br>br>I would only use the recording function if you had no other option. There is no noise reduction and it is mono, which means that tapes recorded on this device will sound terrible when played on other cassette players. CASSETTE PLAYBACKbr>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> I was able to fine-tune the speed with an eyeglass screwdriver so that it played more accurately. br>br>There is a brief "wobbly" sound when the play button is pressed, but it quickly settles in and plays smoothly. br>br>Cassettes have no tone controls and sound flat, but they play loudly. The sound does not contain any motor noise, hum, or static. That was a pleasant surprise. br>br>AM/FMbr>The device can pick up radio stations, though centering on the strongest point of the dial for a station can be a little tricky.
That byron player on here is so much better than this one, which is only mono and warbles like crazy. br>br>Stereo output play head with a constant speed The soft grippy feel of the body is very nice, but the external power is not a standard USB port, which is my only complaint. Because the record head appears to be mono (which is normal), you should look for a used Tascam recorder or something similar if you want to record separate stereo. br>br>In addition, if you're interested in speed control modding, the motor wires are easily accessible under the hood. The circuit board is organized and labeled nicely.
This was purchased a few weeks ago so that I could listen to my cassette tapes. br>I believe this is the best portable tape player available on Amazon, as both the case and the buttons feel very sturdy. The tape mechanism is very smooth, and the sound quality is excellent during playback. br>Radios are good at picking up am and fm signals. br>There is a record function in this, but I haven't tested it. br>The only thing I'd change about it is that I'd request a belt clip. I looked all over the internet for a picture of the back of this player, but I couldn't find anything that showed whether or not a belt clip was included. No, a belt clip is not included, to answer my own question. br>If you're looking for a portable tape player, this is the one to get.
I don't listen to the radio on a regular basis. I don't use the FM feature, but signals from strong local stations seem to work fine, and I'm happy with the price. It would have been nice if it came with the air conditioning. Adapter that converts dc to ac voltage. I'm going to start looking for one.
A very pleasant individual. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted. I was on the lookout for one that worked. This is one of them.
This tiny cassette player, on the other hand, has gone crazy.
I have been collecting vintage radio shows for many years and as a result of that long collection time approximately 60% of my collection is still on I need a good cassette player because I don't have a way to transfer cassette programs to CDs. When I received my little Jensen player, I was overjoyed. It was the right price, the right size, the right sound (since I only play voice recordings and not music), and it was the perfect fit for my needs. Overall, it's a fantastic offer. or so I reasoned. br>br>However, it appears to have reached the end of the line in less than 3 months; while it still starts off nicely, near the end of a half-hour show, it produces the most godawful electronic growl and shriek I've ever heard! As a result, I consider it essentially useless, which renders all of my Cassette programs useless as well. It's an understatement to say that I'm disappointed. It isn't true to say that I will not be purchasing Jensen products.
Although this is not a high-end audio playback device, it is of good quality for the price! br>I like how the counting is rubberized and how long it lasts.
