Philips Portable Boombox CD Player Bluetooth FM Radio MP3 Mega Bass Reflex Stereo Sound System with NFC, 12W, USB Input, Headphone Jack, and LCD Display

1990 was the year I was looking for a new boombox at Circuit City. All of the boomboxes in the store had poor sound, but the Phillips had the best sound by a wide margin. After I bought it and put it to good use for the next 30 years, I sold it. The old boombox had to be replaced today, and I was ready for a new one. This one caught my eye, so I ordered it with the knowledge that they no longer make things the way they once did. But I was so pleased to find out this boombox works so well! I really enjoy the sound quality of it, but first of all, it has a lot to offer. It's quite the contrast between my Sony boombox which sounds hollow and tinny and this Phillips. Those who hear it are filled with a full and warm sound. I find that this radio isn't as warm as my Bose Wave Radio, but I like it nonetheless. The equalizer comes with several preset settings, but the BASS button is the real highlight. You can also adjust it to setting 2 if you are feeling adventurous. I usually keep it at setting 1, but if you do, you can do so. With the bass ports, you get a nice warmth to the low end of the The old boombox was only equipped with a CD player, a radio, and a tape deck. Ahead of this one is a CD, a radio, a Bluetooth, an aux input, NFC, and a headphone jack. There is no problem with Bluetooth. By using AUX-in I was able to compare the sound Bluetooth was as good as or better than AUX-in and in both cases the sound was the same It's great to have a CD player, too! CDs are still something I listen to just about every day, so that made it a necessity to have this player. It operates on both D- and A-batteries The great thing about batteries is that they last a long time. An internal battery would be much more convenient during a power outage than having to recharge a battery built into the device. Last but not least, the device itself is quite beautiful. It should not be too small nor too big. I am very pleased with the purchase and I think this is the best boom box on the market at this time.

The Philips Sound Machine on which I can listen to my CDs is a welcome addition to my home. Having received the unit last Thursday, June 25, 2020, I have now finished setting it up. As a Sirius/XM subscriber for 16 years, exclusively listening to the SPA channel which played ambient, new age, and soft Native American music, I cancelled my subscription early May 2020 because Sirius discontinued the SPA channel. (There is now a Calm channel that plays different This album is terrible in terms of acoustics. The unit does not have stereo sound, despite what I was led to believe from information about the product. I found no instructions for it. In the pamphlet that comes with the unit, Blue Tooth is the main focus. The Blue Tooth feature does not interest me! Playing CDs is my main purpose for purchasing this unit. There is no way to change the preset. Music of the Rock and Roll genre does not interest me. It doesn't work if there is such a thing as a digital tuner. Each of these artists sent me a single song from a CD composed by that artist. My ears were ringing because of the awful sound of the song. I stopped it multiple times. As it was my first experience buying something over the internet, I had to take the following steps. The last time I did that was 20 years ago. As a result, until I find a stereo system upon which to play my CD's, I will not be able to listen to the high-quality sound that Ambient, New Age, and Classical music deserve. There is no way I could have ever imagined purchasing such an item.

You will not be disappointed with the quality of this unit, but I can't tell you how it sounds. The bass drivers of this speaker are separated significantly more than the span of the physical distance between the two speakers. The sound is Powerful, Crisp, Sharp, and Clear. I can feel the sound! This unit is equipped with the BASS PORT SYSTEM, and under the Drivers there are ports. In the high end, the Tweeters play more prominently, and they really make a big difference in the sound. Two weeks ago, I got it, and I've had it almost continually ever since. With the digital tuner, you will always be able to lock on to FM stations. I find it amazing how well the thick, short antenna works! A bass level is selected from 3, and the sound can be tuned for Classic, Jazz, Pop, Flat or There is a port under the drivers in the front of the radio, and there are ports on other brands as well. They have finally nailed what I have searched for all these years! I collect them, so I know what I'm looking for. Your MP3, CD, and CD-R players can stream your music via this unit it has Bluetooth, NFC, USB, MP3, CD, and CD-R. Audio CD, R/RW Tuner has 30 presets, and there is an inbuilt digital tuner. Here, there is music, not radio (there is no AM). As the player is portable, the handle is well balanced and secure. In addition, the product comes with its own remote control, making it easier and more convenient to operate. The system has quickly become my favorite. I knew that was the case right away, but I like to wait until I have had some time to use it. I have over 30 radios at home (yes, I'm a collector), but this one is my favorite. BTW, you can choose whether to use Bluetooth or USB and Shuffle will mix up the order in which your songs will play. This will keep you from getting bored. It will be difficult to transfer this amazing sound to you via a normal camcorder and computer speakers. For that reason, I will try to post a video soon. This boombox is one of my favorites. Having a great sound is one of its best features. Although I use it mostly with my phone, it plays CDs beautifully as well. Some of the options for setting up things are a bit different in this program Click on the EQ or bass settings buttons to adjust the volume In order to achieve the sound you want, you will need to play around with the settings. It's just the tunes that have me groovin'. There is only one thing I would like to see improved, and that is some kind of I am afraid I might lose it since it is really tiny!.

The right speaker suffers from poor distortion, there is no base, treble, or balance control. It is what I would have expected from a less expensive boom box, I have always respected Philips for quality products, but not this one. Neither do I recommend it.
