Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
To connect to your router via Wi-Fi, use the OBi200, OBi202 VoIP Phone Adapters or the OBi1022, OBi1032, OBi1062 IP Phone.
Encryption of wireless data with WEP, WPA, and WPA2 (64/128-bit WEP, WPA2, and WPA2) (64/128-bit WEP, WPA2, and WPA
IEEE 802.11 is the Wi-Fi standard. 1 for a High Security Level
OBiWiFi5G connects to the OBi VoIP device's USB port and is configured through your web browser.
To obtain the most recent firmware, connect the host device to the Internet (via Ethernet) and dial ***6.
Note that WiFi signal/coverage varies depending on where the WiFi Dongle is plugged in. For excellent call transmission, you'll need a strong and stable WiFi signal. If the WiFi signal is weak, we suggest using a wired/ethernet connection. We recommend using a direct ethernet cable or addressing the wireless network topology when connecting it.

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this product with the Obihai 212?

I'm not sure what the difference is, but it should be the same company.

Is this an ethernet fallback device, in the sense that it will automatically connect to a wifi network if ethernet goes down?

It's a great idea, but it doesn't work. In the Obi's firmware setup page, you must choose between the two connections. It is not possible to use both connections at the same time.

Is it compatible with the obi300?

Yes, with a firmware update, it will work with the OBi300; please contact obi support with your 9-digit obi number.

Five out of five stars
5/5

It's fantastic! I didn't want any more wires around my router, computer, or television because I already had my computer connected to my television. I was able to move the Obi200 and my phone across the room with the help of this USB wifi dongle. Voice quality is excellent and crystal clear! Also, go to your router's configuration page and enable quality of service (QoS) for the ethranet port where your obihai is connected. Turn on QoS for the Mac address assigned to the obihai if you're using a wifi USB dongle. This will ensure that your voice is of the highest quality.

A fantastic Ethernet substitute   I'm using the OBiWiFi5G with my OBi200 instead of an Ethernet cable to connect
5/5

While connected to the adapter, call quality has been excellent, and the person on the other end of the line can clearly hear me. It takes about 30 minutes to set up the router I usually get 50 Mbps up and 8 Mbps down from a distance of 40 feet (separated by two walls). It's very simple to set up (unless you don't have a computer or mobile device with WiFi capabilities, in which case you'll need one). Connecting to the OBiWiFi setup network and configuring your WiFi settings there takes less than a minute, and the OBi is up and running in under a minute. This adapter is outstanding. br>br>Note: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "creative If you use the WiFi adapter, the data light on the OBi200 is turned off. When data is being sent, the wifi adapter's own blue light flashes.

$25 for those who are unemployed
5/5

Is it possible to tether my Obihai Obi200? SOLD! We need a landline in our house because our cell phone service isn't reliable enough to make business calls from inside. However, I despised having to pay for something we didn't use very often. br>br>I purchased an Obihai OBi200 for $50 and used it for a week with Google Voice. I didn't notice any differences in voice quality, but I did miss having caller ID on my outbound calls. I had to inform everyone of my new phone number - There are so many spam calls that no one picks up unknown callers! br>br>I noticed the WIFI5G dongle as I was getting ready to "permanently" locate the unit. I was a little worried about the voice quality, but I already have Direct6 installed. What could possibly go wrong with a 0 handset? There was no deterioration, in my opinion. I'm able to find my multi-tasking computer. Now I can use the cordless base wherever I want in my house. It used to be tied to the location of my service provider's modem (my house isn't wired for POTS or convenient CAT5). br>br>My only complaint is that the setup was not as smooth as it appeared. While I am no expert, I do have a background in network security, and I did, after all, set my own Webpage Admin Password when I first installed Obitalk. It was easy to set up once I figured out what was wrong. User: admin PW: (It doesn't matter what you choose -) which is accessible from the Obitalk Dashboard's Device Configuration page - (See the image below. ) br>br>One useful piece of information is to dial ***1 to get the unit's IP address. You can also use that address to access the unit. There's a lot of room for personalization. br>br>So, for $75 and a few hours of work, I can get rid of my monthly phone bills and get a free landline for US/Canada calls. I can also get rid of my internet service provider modem and buy my own instead of renting one. Of course, I could have done it before, but this time the payback is only four months rather than years. br>br>As a side note, Google Voice is a fantastic way to create a portable permanent landline that you can take with you and manage from anywhere. It can forward calls to your cell phone, VoIP phone, or traditional landline, and it can also be used to text and convert voicemail to e-mail. Send free mail! To set it up, you'll need a cell phone, which I strongly advise!.

Effective, affordable, and dependable
5/5

I get about 33% signal at the opposite corner of my house with this dongle, which is good enough for calls as clear as calling from a land line. My router is an Asus RT Tomato firmware is installed on the AC68U. People who complain about poor call quality or connectivity are likely to have a bad router or an expensive router with buggy OEM firmware. Here's a litmus test: if your router needs to be rebooted once a week, VoIP over wifi isn't for you. br>br>All I care about is the fact that a proprietary wifi dongle isn't prohibitively expensive. For a small 802. 11ac router, $25 shipped is a great deal. Adapter for the IEEE 802. 11ac standard. br>br>I was able to connect my OBi200 to my WLAN using this dongle without the OBi200 being connected via Ethernet. I logged into my router, set up a DHCP reservation, and forwarded UDP port 10000 to the reserved IP address after following Obihai's instructions for connecting the adapter to my wireless network. After that, my OBi200 was able to register with Obihai, Google Voice, update its firmware, and make phone calls without any issues.

What exactly is going on here? No wires! Love it! For POTS, I currently use the OBi300 series adapter, which is specific to Dialpad
4/5

Only the 2 are available for purchase at Dialpad. I went here for the 5GHz spectrum because the 4GHz version was just garbage around me. Nothing came on when I first plugged it in. Despite the fact that I didn't think it was compatible, I sent OBihai a support request. br>br>They were quick to respond, taking about 45 minutes to remotely update my firmware. I was able to replace the hardwired CAT6 with this adapter almost immediately. There were a few minor audio dropouts, but I believe that was due to the fact that it was still provisioning traffic with my router. The hardwired function has been just as clear in the last few days. If you don't see the blue light, contact support, and they should be able to help you out right away!.

When I reached out to customer service, they were quick to respond
3/5

Many things went haywire as I implemented their recommendations! It's never worked properly for me. When I reached out to customer service, they were quick to respond. Many things went wrong as I implemented their recommendations! I attempted to contact customer service - They did not, however, respond. It has now become a complete waste of money! If you get a response from customer service - I'm going to make a change to my post.
