Thank you for contacting us, JackBlack.br>br> The XFasten Laminating Pouches are a self-contained system for laminating documents. It is a sealing type of laminating pouch, which means that while it can be used in a thermal laminator, it lacks the specific dry adhesive found in laminating pouches designed for thermal laminators. However, due to the fact that this is a self-contained unit, If you use a sealing laminating pouch to protect small documents, photos, and business cards, you won't need a thermal laminator. It has a strong enough adhesive to keep the documents safe. br>br>We hope we've addressed your concern, JackBlack. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. It will need to be trimmed considerably to fit in a wallet divider/pocket, but it is possible. Here's some helpful advice: After you've finished sealing and trimming it, take a Bic lighter or something similar and melt the plastic around the outside edges. It doesn't take much and it's quick, and it'll help keep it together for a long time while also reducing the size. br>I would buy it again and recommend it to others. This is my first time using a laminator of this type, and I was very pleased with the results. br>I didn't trim it small enough to fit in my wallet's little dividers, but it fit in the little side insert behind the divider and allowed me to close my wallet (Big Skinny wallet, bifold).
These are ideal for laminating the newly issued Medicare cards. I bought them for the residents of our local assisted living facility to use.
They are marketed for business cards, but I used them for paper cards, such as the new Social Security cards. They're simple to use, and you can trim them down to fit in your wallet. Simply make sure the card is perfectly aligned before dropping the hinged top sheet, as it will form a permanent bond.
This product is, in my opinion, the next best thing to buying a laminating machine, and it's nice to have a company that thinks ahead as technology and ideas advance. Yes, it is simple to use. A thousand words are said to be worth a picture. That is precisely what this business has provided. Diagrams showing how to insert your valuable item into the laminating material. When it comes to the yellowing of the plastic, It's far too soon to say. But, while most things do have a shelf life over time, I don't think I should be concerned with such a simple idea and a well-thought-out product, so thank you. It has saved me a lot of money in the long run when it came to purchasing a laminating machine, so it was money well spent. We all know how important it is to keep an eye on our money. Thank you very much.
This is an unbiased, non-paid, non-free item review. br>br>My husband has recently begun receiving medicare benefits. Every time we visit the doctor, they ask to see the card, and every time we get it back, we wipe it down with a damp paper towel sprayed with vinegar and water to disinfect it slightly. The cards for Medicare are made of thick paper rather than plastic. With all the wiping that needs to be done, it'll fall apart in no time. This was the answer! br>br> These are ideal for business card-sized cards, and his medicare card fit snugly inside. Even for us "old people," the instructions are very simple to follow. We had so much fun and found it so simple that we went ahead and completed both of our social security cards! We're relieved that when a doctor's office worker needs the cards, they'll be disinfected by wiping them with vinegar or hand sanitizer. br>br>5 out of 5 stars!.
I ordered these after receiving a sample of another brand (not this one) and falling in love with it. These are equally effective as the sample. It's essentially a plastic "folder" with a sticky inside that you open, insert the card into, remove the sticky backing, and firmly close. One side is completely sticky on the inside, ensuring a secure and permanent closure. I used them to store my social security and Medicare cards, as well as some information cards on cardboard. These cards fit perfectly in my wallet even after they've been "laminated," and they're now much easier to remove. If I ever run out, I will definitely purchase again!.
They're great for our new Medicare cards, which I used them for. I used two laminates per Medicare card, one on each side of the new card I wanted sealed, and the other on the back of the card I wanted sealed. Then you can reduce the size of the results to fit in your wallet.
They're nice, but only glue one side. So don't trim too close or one side will come off, which is to be expected with this type of laminate. So only one side is fully glued to the item being sealed, and the other half is only held together by the edges and will come off if trimmed too close. I've carefully trimmed some down to about 2/16" and they hold up fine, but for long-term use, a 1/8" or so border would be ideal. When I'm done with it, I'll buy it again.
