Despite the fact that I had not purchased an additional warranty, I contacted customer service and they were covered. I threw away the ones that were broken, and they quickly sent me new ones. Customer service is outstanding.
Man! I've never spent more than $60 on anything else. They sounded fine when I connected them to a JVC head unit. I went out and purchased a 600 watt 2 channel DUAL XPR82D and you can't go wrong with this configuration if you want loud with good audio. I got the amp at Walmart, and the company is based in Florida, so it's a win-win situation for me.
I BOUGHT THESE SPEAKERS TO REPLACE THE CAMPER'S FACTORY EXTERIOR SPEAKERS. SOME TRIMMING WAS REQUIRED WHEN I CHANGED FROM 3 1/2" TO 5 1/4", BUT IT WAS NOT A BIG DEAL. THESE SPEAKERS ARE DEFINITELY BETTER THAN THE FACTORY SPEAKERS, AND THEY HAVE PERFORMED EXCELLENTLY. AT THIS PRICE, IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT.
I should have known better than to invest in low-cost speakers. What you pay for is precisely what you get. You're not sure where all those five-star ratings came from, are you? They were put to the test right out of the box, but never made it to the enclosure, so they were returned to the box. It didn't come with speaker wire or clips, which I expected. It's difficult to put into words what I heard. Tiny, cracking, and no bass at all. It was my fault; I had become spoiled by my previous systems and had set unrealistic expectations. Move on; these aren't worth your time.
You get a lot for your money with this great deal.
I like the sound quality, but I had to slightly enlarge my speaker hole; otherwise, it was a simple installation.
It was well worth the money.
