Installed two years ago, they've been exposed to the elements for a good portion of the year and have held up well. I don't treat them with any respect, and I can't expect much from such a low-cost option as a boat speaker, but they've earned a good reputation thus far. Sound is adequate, but not exceptional, and the construction appears to be fairly sturdy! They are a good deal. Year three of the update: Original two speakers were replaced with the same Boss 6 (not the Boss 3rd and 4th reviewed above). Everything seems to be working fine at 5", and I appreciate the stainless steel mounting hardware for long-term use.

They mean "7" when they say "5". As a result, the speakers are quite good. But, since everyone else couldn't be bothered to put how much they're "overweight," I figured I'd offer some assistance. There are six of them. The screw holes are 5" in diameter. The speaker's face is slightly larger than a 7. 5". As a result, they won't fit in a standard 6-pack. 5" hole for the speaker So, if the BOSS 5 measurement is correct, It wouldn't fit in a 6 if it were 25. Either a 5" or a 6" speaker hole will suffice. So, if that's the hole you're trying to fill, I'd suggest switching to a different brand or preparing to cut the hole much larger wherever you're installing it. I hope this has been of assistance.

It was only yesterday that I put it in. The instructions are simple to follow. The sound quality is far superior to what I had expected. It's a lot more than we'll ever need for our fishing boat. We had an issue with the order, but it was simple to use and looked nice. The nuts that came with the screws were not the right ones. Because the screws were too small for the nuts, I had to find some to make it work, which slowed down the installation process. I was caught off guard by this. The screws and nuts came in their own bags, ready to use. This was the first time I'd ever had screws and nuts that were the wrong size. A fantastic unit in every other way.

Speakers are extremely effective. You can't go wrong with $20 for two speakers. One issue you may encounter is that the depth of these speakers is much greater than that of the Jensens, and they may not be able to penetrate the wall completely. If this happens, don't panic; all you need is a 1/2" speaker spacer (which you can also get on Amazon). If you do this, you'll need longer screws because the stock ones won't hold up. In the photo I've attached, you can see a black spacer to get an idea of what I'm talking about.

This is the second time I've bought these speakers. The first set, which lasted five years, was released in 2013, and the second set, which will be released in 2020, will last seven years. Both sets of speakers had rusted at the cone's magnet - The electronic components soldered on the cone had also developed corrosion. The sound quality is satisfactory - When the volume is turned up, it begins to clip - It's worth noting that the speakers have a higher wattage rating than my radio. The blade connector on the speaker, however, is my biggest disappointment. Both blades fit a 1/4-inch connector on the 2013 model. The negative connector on the 2020 model is 1/4 inch, while the positive connector is. 2 feet and 11 inches 8mm) - I had to remove the old connector and replace it with a smaller one, which I purchased and installed. The rust on the cone, as well as the two different sizes of connector blades, demonstrate how shoddy Chinese quality control is.

Overall, I'm pleased with the quality for the low price; I'm only using a newer, basic Pioneer stereo to power them, and they reproduce clear sound at moderate volume, which is all I require. They tend to over emphasize the midbass, which is fine in an open environment because they aren't expected to go into the low bass region given their size; however, I believe they would sound much better with a smaller amplifier, but hey, look at the low price. Keep in mind that standard 6 1/2 speaker installation necessitates a larger opening, so be prepared to cut. They appear to be well-installed, and the sound quality is actually quite good. I think you'll enjoy these if you're looking for a low-cost camera with good clarity. The reason for the four stars is that you can't expect the same sound quality from these as you can from a set that costs hundreds of dollars. I'll recommend them, and I'll most likely buy another set for myself.

I bought these to replace the speakers in a Larson bowrider (2004 212 LSI) that was 21 feet long. On the boat, I don't play music; All I needed was for these to do was: a) They must be appealing to the eye and b) they must serve a purpose. Installation was straightforward (due to a strange OEM size Larson used, new holes had to be drilled - This was not due to a flaw in the product, but it did not take long. br>br>I powered it up after connecting it to the factory Clarion head unit. I had anticipated AM- Sound quality is comparable to that of a radio (thanks to the brand, price, and 5. The speaker is 25" in size. ) I was wrong, much to my surprise! These things actually sounded halfway decent after a slight boost to the bass EQ! So much so that I'm thinking about putting in another two. They won't blow you away, but for the price, I was pleasantly surprised by their performance; I had expected sound quality to be comparable to the speakers installed in my RV (which are abysmal). ) These are far superior to the previous ones. br>br>The weatherproofing is the only reason I docked a star. The backs of the speakers aren't as well protected as the stock ones I took out. The backside of the speakers protrude into the underseat storage areas in my boat due to the mounting location. Wet life jackets and other such items will undoubtedly drip on them, so I wish it had a little more weather protection like the stock ones.

Mines were mounted in surface-mounted pods on the side of a travel trailer. I'm not sure if they enhance the speaker's bass or not, but they sure pound. br>br>When connected to a standard Pioneer radio, they produce excellent sound (read- not tinny) and was planning to purchase the kickers but settled on these because they appear to be more plain. br>br>I doubt anyone will steal the boss speakers from it while it's being stored!.
