If you mean the transmitter and receiver by base station, then yes. That unit, which is about the same size as the hand-held controller, connects to the RayMarine Seatalk system somewhere on the boat, preferably high up so it has a good range to the hand-held controller. A 12V charging cord is also included, as well as a cradle for mounting the device.
I'll check with my Captain to see if we're using autopilot.
The smart controller is housed in the box, along with a base station for data transmission. If you have a Raymarine Smart Pilot or a similar product on your boat, you will need to connect the Base Station to the Smart Pilot OR to one of the existing displays (daisy chain) so that the "Base Station" can send data to the portable smart controller. To make all of your connections, cables are included in the Smart Controller's box. To connect the Base Station and the Smart Pilot, you might need to cut the plug off one of the provided cables.
I apologize for using it on the ST6001 Autopilotbr>Control Unit.

Easy set- up, excellent features It's a lot easier and more fun to sail solo. Keep in mind that ALL of your RayMarine units must be connected to the SeaTalk system via cable; otherwise, the data will not be visible on the remote and your tiller control will not function. Simply follow the setup instructions to the letter.
Installing it is a breeze.
I was able to think outside the box and come up with a creative solution. There's nothing like sitting on the bow of my boat and steering it. This is a complete game changer.
