Questions & Answers

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a ported subwoofer vs. a non-ported subwoofer (SVS PB1000 vs. The music I listen to the most is classical. ?

Such a subwoofer is high quality, properly tuned and port-equipped (such as this one). As a result, 1) will last longer, since the compressed suspension foam and electrical resistance on the drive amplifier will last longer. larger than its sealed counterpart. A sealed box subwoofer takes up less space than an open box subwoofer. This is more apparent in notes that require more amplifier current, such as 3) is louder. There is less punch in a sealed box subwoofer. There are a couple of caveats however 4) are generally more expensive than similar SB Subs. *br>I feel that a sealed box sub is a compromise. *br>My SVS PB Sub produces tight, impressive A neighbor across the street complains about his rattling windows in my neighborhood. Our lots have half an acre, and due to mid-volume levels, I hear noises from his home.

What is the voltage of this subwoofer? Is it dual voltage or only 120 VAC?

110V is the standard voltage for SVS subwoofers sold in the USA. 220V can also be requested (at no extra cost) at the time of purchase. In jurisdictions throughout the world, SVS subwoofers are configured to suit the local voltage. The above is a testimony from Ed The New VVS

Will this subwoofer be powerful enough to accompany a 25' x 25' home theater system?

You have to think about what you want to accomplish. There is a lot of impact and noise with the bass playing just under 20Hz. However, if you're expecting the kind of home theater that would shake the room with bass, this may not be the best choice. I can honestly say that it's an excellent sub, and I continue to be amazed at its sound with both music and movies alike. If you are interested in the PB 2000, or if you are planning on using 2 of them, you may want to consider getting two I'd like to point out that PB-1000 is also available in PB-2000 format. In this year's product of the year awards, 2000 won a bunch of awards.

A $500 investment is well worth it
5/5

It was an awesome performance. I am stunned! It's everything I've ever wanted and needed in my home theater and music system. At first I thought $500 was absurd, but it turns out that it is well The performance of this device is amazing. With that good, punchy bass, it gives the feeling of being pressed into submission. In fact, it goes low (19Hz) just as promised. My new subs allow me to hear things that I've never been able to hear with my old subs. Nevertheless, I still need to make a few adjustments. In addition to your AVR's Room Calibration EQ feature, you should also check your headphones. After that, you will need to make adjustments. The gain knob of your sub should not be left at twelve o'clock after you've made a In order to unleash the power of this sub, you need to use the gain knob. Set the subwoofer level to - instead of the level set by Room EQ Using the gain knob on the back of the sub, adjust the volume to your liking by setting AVR to 5 only. Furthermore, an extra 4 feet should be added to the distance between your subwoofer and your speakers after EQing the room.

It sounds a little bit like this when it comes to In every way, this room is perfect for my needs
5/5

Three of my subs have been with this company. It has been changed to SVS from HSU, Infinity Primus. The INFINITY EP is a 12" and the other EPs are 10". The bass quality of the 10s is far superior to the 12" EP.

The secret to a great sub lays more in the clarity of the bass and its sonic communication across the board from the heaviest explosions to the deepest reggae. Our ears are so accustomed to rumbling bass that we think it is That's not the case. There is no difference in quality between the music and movies on the sub. Bass is fast in this track. Fire from a machine gun is so clear, you can hear each round, and a fast bass hit in music is equally clear, deep, and distinct. There is no way to listen to it before you buy it as it is The subs in stores that I have listened to aren't even close to this one. I have listened to as many as I could find, and NOTHING compares to this one. The SVS 10" sub I have owned has been as good if not better than HSU's. There were no 10" subs available at the store, so I went to SVS and bought one there. I would recommend this to everyone.

Pair this with a BIC F12 and you have a killer combination
5/5

For $500, it's a pretty amazing bass amp it sounds like it costs more.

I have this paired with a BIC F12 sub in my home theater, and I also have some good Polk speakers in there. We sit in the SVS and the f12 are the big boys occupying the front left of the room, while our seats are filled with rich bass from the f12 and rumbling from the SVS at the back of the room. I had an incredible time. Although I know most audio professionals will say not to mix speaker brands, I have found that they all work together in perfect harmony as soon as I get the levels balanced and I cannot even tell there are two different manufacturers of subwoofers Adding in the SVS system, my home theater's audio system costs a little over $2000, and sounds so much better than any other stereo system I've ever had. There was a missing piece, the SVS.

The SVS has been reactivated everyone is safe The price for 7 is 1000
5/5

My Atmos 7 looked incomplete without this. I bought it for the last time. Movies are mainly watched on the 4 setup. My first purchase was a Definitive Technology ProSub 1000 followed by a Def Tech CS9060, two SR9040s, a DT6, and a DT6A. There are 5R ceilings, here's what that looks like I hooked it up and it blew (as I was using There was a lot of rattling and clipping going on with the thing. The SVS PB is entered here - The AVR does not clip at all except at full volume (I now have it set at 30%, with the LFE controlled by the AVR at I chose this sub company because it gives me a smooth response, not boomy, and is low enough to feel in my chest. Ergo, if you're on the fence about which sub company to choose, there's In case the price is a concern, I bought mine "Like New" from IQ HOME ENTERTAINMENT (authorized dealer) since the box was factory sealed and was in brand new Although it is still expensive, it is well worth the price. The following reasons are why SVS is the right choice There is a 5-year warranty on the product. Be sure you have the space for the box before ordering.

The box is rather large, so be sure you can accommodate it. There is a theatre room in my house that is about.

The low frequency response of this sub is excellent
5/5

It was a good deal when I bought it as a gift for someone I care about The polk psw108 that I have had for a few years needed to be upgraded. The sound system in my home has been slowly being upgraded and I felt it was time to upgrade to When I was researching, multiple people suggested the SVS Subs.

I use my sound system both to watch movies and to listen to music. Listening to music was the first thing I did after hooking up the sub and calibrating it. The following bass-related videos were taken by me Songs that are full of emotion. On this sub, they sounded great! Their sound filled the room well, they were nice and clear. The water is clear and not murky After listening to some music, I ran a test on the subwoofer. This test ran a bunch of frequencies through the sub to see what the response was. It felt like someone had grabbed my head and was shaking it from start to finish. As long as it hits low and hits it hard, I have no doubt it'll make a great sub. Although I haven't watched much action movies with it yet, I have no doubt it's going to So far, I'm very pleased with the sub, and will most likely order a second one in the near future. *EDIT Having just purchased a second subwoofer, I am delighted with its sound quality! I run my receiver every once in a while and sometimes it updates the firmware and changes the settings without me realizing it until I try to watch a movie and the subs sound So, I turned my subs way up in an attempt to make sure that the problem was not my subs, which caused my windows to shake. There is no doubt that these subs are worth the money.

Subwoofers that are perfect for your home! Great value for the money
5/5

My original purpose in purchasing this subwoofer was to replace an aged and torn 10" Paradigm. With the purchase of a second PB1000 within a month, I did not hesitate to move the main seating area behind the PB1000. The combined effect of both movies and music is a powerful, consistent, resonating bass that is detailed and relatively transparent. The way I handle things is not overbearing. I was extremely happy with their customer service (from SVS). They look very good and are It is highly recommended that at least one PB1000 be purchased Don't be afraid to double up! If you have a bigger room or budget, I'm sure the PB2000 will be equally impressive.

This is an awesome port
5/5

It was the first time I However, I was underwhelmed by the lack of intensity in 1000. As soon as I got this one, I could not be happier. There is a huge difference in sound quality thanks to the ported design. Those who like to hear the linear frequency in their home theaters will be satisfied with LFE. This thing is pretty big when it comes to "huge. ". You should ensure that its physical size doesn't dominate your room before you buy it. The issue could be with the SAF. The spousal acceptance factor (SATF). No need to worry if you're looking for a great sub without breaking the bank.
