Questions & Answers

I bought two of these and tried them in a Samsung and an RCA, but the cable would not connect to the TV. So, what is the answer?

The input is connected to the television's digital/optical audio output port. I don't believe there is a solution if your TV does not support this. It's a digital-to-analog converter, so it won't work in reverse.

Would sending audio from a television (digital) to a home theater (RCA/analog) work properly?

Yes. That is the purpose of this device. If your television is Dolby digital, make sure you get a Dolby compatible adapter.

Is it compatible with RCA's 5 volt system? 5 speakers and a subwoofer on one receiver?

The analog output is stereo, not mono. both to the left and right There were only two people who spoke. The crossover in the receiver should send a signal to the subwoofer.

Don't be concerned if all you hear is static
5/5

I, like many others here, had the following experience: br>br>I connected everything correctly, turned it on, and got nothing but static. Isn't this not how you imagined a 5-star review starting? br>br>I decided to read these reviews before packing everything up and starting a return. And here, I read multiple accounts of people who had the same problem and were able to resolve it with a simple fix. br>br>Check your TV's audio settings if you hear static after setting it up. It could be in the "advanced" or "expert" mode. Make sure it's set to PCM (or something similar) rather than Dolby. The Dolby signal is not supported by this converter. (Which is understandable. ) This converter is for converting an optical audio signal to a white/red left/right RCA signal. br>br>I made the necessary adjustments to the television, and it now works flawlessly. My father-in-law is overjoyed that his new 4K television is connected to his vintage audio receiver. I never expected to see a 4K television and a phonograph connected to the same device! br>br>Quick reminder: This adapter DOES need to be charged, and it comes with one. I just wanted to let you know in case you run out of power outlets.

WORKS WITH THE SAMSUNG UHD KS8000 FROM 2016! Audio Format should be set to PCM
5/5

Yes, you can connect a stereo receiver to a 2016 Samsung KS 8000 UHD TV using only RCA inputs. which isn't equipped with an RCA cable! Those were the exact words I was looking for when I was trying to decide which converter to buy out of the dozens of options and a slew of obvious issues about whether it could decode 5. Down to a 2-channel audio or Dolby Digital output. receiver of a channel OMG. Well, guess what? This unit can do so via the optical port, but the overall issue of what works with which TV is extremely perplexing to a layperson! As a result, this TV has Dolby Digital 5. 1 output. Also, the Optical Output option is functional: Is it possible that that port does not send a Dolby signal? I'm not sure what I'm saying. It's really easy: br>br> The optical output port and optical cables are connected to the converter's TV side, while the RCA cables from the receiver are connected to the converter's opposite side. I had to fiddle with the TV settings, which was probably the most difficult part: Here's what I came up with: Go to the Settings menu and select Sound- Choose "Audio Out/Optical" as the speaker type. then - Setting for Experts - "Bitstream" is the audio format for HDMI. "PCM" is the audio format. br>br>That should be enough! br>br>It's a small but high-quality unit. They also have a 30-day return policy and 24-hour customer service (both of which I didn't require). But, for the most part, it works, and I don't have to buy a Soundbar or Bluetooth speakers, so I'm satisfied!.

Make a link between the old and the new
4/5

I have a smart HDTV with no RCA outputs, so I had to use an older amp/mixer to send audio to it. Only optical out and HDMI ports were available. I tried a few different things before going online to look for more information. The hunt came to a halt when a converter was required. This gadget fixed a vexing issue. I was able to give my once-expensive amp/mixer a new lease on life. This is something I would recommend! It works! My new LG television does not have Bluetooth capability
5/5

our premium service br>As a result, I connected the converter box to the TV's optical-in port via Toslink. Then, from the other end of the box, connect red to the out port. White RCA cables with a female port (which I'm holding up in the first photo) to the male end of my small 3rd party Bluetooth transmitter (which, of course, must be paired with your headset). I had to set the LG sound out to optical and then PCM (rather than Auto, which was the default), as shown in the second photo. br>It's also effective. Awesome. It is not necessary for me to purchase a new television.

It was a complete waste of both time and money
3/5

PCM is the only format supported. Most DVD players support PCM over Toslink, but they also have analog outputs, eliminating the need for a converter. My LG TV didn't support PCM, so I needed to convert Toslink out. This product is useless in my application. If a converter doesn't say it supports Dolby, 5. It will not work with an LG TV Toslink output in addition to PCM. Almost all of the low-cost converters (including this one) only support PCM, and they don't say so in the description. It was a complete waste of both time and money. This vendor has been placed on my no-buy list.
