I'm referring to the conversion of voltages representing ones and zeros into an on/off led. Ones and zeros are represented in this way. It would be difficult to mess up something like that, and they didn't. It's as simple as plugging it in and turning the switch to the desired input. br>Because my DAC has more toslink and fewer coax inputs than I require, this device converts the coax from my CD player to optical for my DAC, making it sound identical to a CD player. 16bit 44khz, as it should be.
This unit performs admirably in its intended role. However, I discovered that the quality rating of the Toslink output wire was critical for my conversion from Digital to Toslink. If you don't use the best Toslink wire, you'll end up like me: I couldn't get an output signal until I upgraded the output wire (which, by the way, isn't included).
This is a low-cost digital converter that converts coax to optical. There is no power supply included. You might be enticed by the low price, but keep in mind that you'll need to buy or use an existing power supply.
The gadget was a lot smaller than I had anticipated. It's fantastic. The included cables, on the other hand, are a complete waste of time. The optical cable did not have any caps on it. The digital coax cable, which is inexpensive, was harmed as a result. Not even basic standards are met (assuming it isn't just a cheap rca cable).
My CD player's one coax output is already occupied when I use it with a NOS DAC that only has coaxial connections. As a result, the optical output is converted to coax for the dac input.
Perfect ! It's very simple to connect, and it sounds fantastic. I highly recommend it.
My television only had a coaxial audio input, and my soundbar only had an optical input, so I had to switch my audios every time. As a result, this came in handy. Now I can listen to everything without having to switch between them.
I intend to purchase this item again.
