Yes. This unit is rated at a three out of five stars. Volume and mute buttons are controlled by the remote, which has a 5mm headphone jack.
Yes. This device was required to connect the digital audio output of my Blu-ray player to the analog input of my amplifier. If your receiver doesn't have any digital inputs, such as HDMI or optical, you'll need this to connect your digital source.

After discovering that my new smart TV didn't have a 3. 0 HDMI port, I purchased this in August 2019. The audio output is 5mm. Here's what I had to say about the product:br>br>Hookup: Connect the power cable, the optical audio from the TV to the converter, and the 3. Connect the power cable, the optical audio from the TV to the converter, and the 3. The audio output is connected via a 5mm audio cable. br>Remote: br>Remote: br>Remote: As other reviewers have stated, this is not the best remote available. Either the remote controller's IR isn't very strong, or the receiver is the issue, but given that the remote stopped working in less than a year (despite trying multiple new CR2025 batteries), I'm going to say it's the remote. There's no point in buying this product if it doesn't come with a remote. br>Receiver: It works fine, but it's nothing to write home about. There appears to be a significant volume increment. As a result, please double-check that the volume on your audio equipment is set correctly. It'll take some time to figure out what's going on. br>br>To summarize, this is a simple DAC with a remote, though the remote isn't the best. In less than a year, mine passed away. So keep that in mind.
I have an old stereo system that I wanted to use to listen to the TV. Most TVs only have optical sound output, which I need to connect to my old Pioneer beast, but what I really wanted was to be able to control the volume without getting up and turning the knob. This unit does everything and is simple to set up. Blu- Blu-ray, DVD, and cable all go into my stereo via the TV's optical out. A fantastic item!.
It worked fine after I changed the settings on my Android TV box (I'm using the AT&T AT&T AT&T AT&T AT&T AT&T AT&T AT&T AT&T AT AT&T has a T TV app and an Android TV box. br>br>I was under the impression that TosLink and SPDIF were competitors, but they aren't. SPDIF is the transmission mode, while TosLink is the optical cable. br>br>The only other thing I needed was a USB power supply, which I have plenty of.
I saw some similar products that were a lot more expensive but did the same thing. I'm glad I persevered in my search. When I first saw it, I almost didn't buy it because I thought the price was too good to be true. However, the reviews were positive, so I figured I could always return it! It arrived, I configured it, and it worked flawlessly. luvit! You wouldn't be able to get it back from me in any case.
The short conclusion is that this unit converts digital audio from a tosh link to an analog output. I used it to power a powered speaker system for my television. The sound quality is excellent, and the best part is that the volume can be controlled via a remote control. The only criticism I have is that the remote control has a cheap feel to it. This unit does exactly what it says on the tin at a very reasonable price.
Many TVs have poor built-in speakers and only optical audio output connectors designed to connect to a home stereo, which isn't suitable for a bedroom! This device allows me to connect my high-quality amplified speakers while also allowing me to control volume from a distance (which is not possible with optical output). The sound quality is outstanding!.
I used it to connect my TV's digital audio output to a small amplifier, bookshelf speakers, and a subwoofer. This is ideal for this purpose, as it provides excellent TV audio and allows me to play music from my Fire Cube. The job is completed in a cost-effective manner. The remote control output is a little weak, but I use a universal remote for this, so it's not an issue for me.
