There haven't been any issues that I'm aware of. They always appear to be in sync.
Simply connect your existing left and right audio cables to this box, which then connects to the television via an optical cable (included with this device). The audio is routed from the television to this box, which then goes to your receiver. Our new smart TV and 24-year-old receiver get along swimmingly.
The majority of the time, the answer is a resounding NO! If you want to connect to a new smart TV that has a digital audio output, you'll have to buy a separate sound bar with the outputs you need. This converter isn't required in that case. In my case, I had to use this to connect to an existing analog sound system in order to use both speakers and headphones at the same time. I believe that new televisions discriminate against people who have hearing problems, and I have to buy extra parts so that others in the room can hear me when I'm wearing headphones. Unlike older analog TVs, most new TVs only allow for one output to be active at a time.
That has never happened to me with any converter, including this one. Both of my Samsung TVs remain on regardless of the power switch. You might want to consult Samsung on this.

YAY! This method is effective. br>This kit includes everything you'll need to connect a new HDTV's TOSlink digital audio output to your older analog stereo audio receiver's stereo audio inputs.
- This item comes with the TOSlink cable that you'll need to connect to your HDTV. The AC to 5V DC power transformer is also included with this product.
- br>Please keep in mind that this vendor was chosen by me. Easycel - over the other, otherwise identical units being sold on Amazon, because this one includes the AC/DC transformer for power as well as the required TOSlink cable, which the sellers of some similar units on Amazon do not appear to be including with their package.
- This converter box is simple to set up and takes only a few minutes. Turn off your HDTV as well as your audio receiver first. Then connect the fiber optic TOSlink cable to the HDTV digital audio output. After that, connect the other end of the cable to the converter box's TOSlink digital jack. Next, connect the analog RCA stereo cable you used to connect to your Audio Receiver's stereo analog input to the RCA jacks on the converter box's other side. Then, with one end of the 5V DC power transformer plugged into a 120V socket and the other into the converter, plug it in. Finally, switch on your HDTV and Audio Receiver. Select digital audio output with PCM encoding in the HDTV settings. You now have stereo audio coming in and out of your analog stereo Audio Receiver from your HDTV.

My old receiver wouldn't connect because it didn't have a digital connection, and I got a new TV. This converter kept me going without the need to upgrade to one of those super-expensive tuners with bluetooth and digital connections.
People, do your homework! It performs admirably on my Samsung Series 8 TV, which I purchased in 2018. Toslink was used to connect the RCA jacks on my ARTISTE wireless headphones. Many people are complaining about having a lot of static, and it's because they don't change their audio settings on their Roku or Firestick. Even the sound on the television. I'm not going to tell you how to do it because you'll have to figure it out on your own. I believe that buyers make it too easy for people who don't want to fix things themselves for work they've already done. I would tell you how to do it if it were a difficult task, but it isn't. I'll tell you right now that changing your audio settings will solve all of your problems. Also, turn the TV's volume down to zero and use your headphones' volume controls. For me, this tiny gadget is ideal!.
This performs the necessary conversion of digital to analog audio, allowing for the use of headphones. According to the manual, the tv volume adjustment (tv audio set to PCM) should control the headphone volume, but my SONY HDTV does not work that way, so I can't adjust my headphone volume when using this converter. I tried a variety of TV audio settings in addition to following the manual, but no luck. br>br>When using the converter, the only volume level I can get from my headphones is way too loud, and there's an annoying hiss in the background that's only drowned out by the high volume level. I'll most likely return this unit and replace it with one that has a dedicated volume control. I see why so many DAC converters have volume controls now. Other TVs' volume controls may adjust, but mine do not.
I have two sets of equipment (one upstairs and one downstairs). As an example, I'll use the second floor. Most speakers get very little power, there's no way to modulate power, and modern speakers aren't even close to being as good as old ones. That is: Unless you want to spend $20,000, which I wasn't willing to do. This thing is as crisp as a morning dew. There will be no need to use magnetic anti-theft devices. There is no interference on the fiber optic cable, only large gauge gold/copper analog cables come out the other side, and it does not get hot. It's simple to conceal: And, to be honest, if you know what you're doing, it's far superior to purchasing a modern setup.
