Questions & Answers

It's got a cassette player, right? Is it equipped with the auto-repair feature? Is there a way to reverse this? Please inform me as soon as possible, as my 88-year-old father is in desperate need of one! ?

Continuous Play is the other name for it. "Auto- Reverse" was a silly name for the function in the first place because you can only see the cassette from one side, usually through a small plastic window, but I suppose the name has some merit because the tape moves in the opposite direction to play the other side instead of having to pop the deck, pull the tape out, flip the tape over, put it back in, and press play. Oh, the agony! It only takes about 5 seconds! It wasn't a big deal, and it still isn't, because records were always flipped, and they still are. The pencil remark is one of my favorites. Where is my Ticonderoga 2 if I miss the 1980s?

Is there a jack for headphones?

There is a headphone jack as well as an auxiliary input on this device.

Is it possible to see the minutes and seconds of the CD that is playing on the display?

I understand that it only shows the seconds for each song rather than the entire CD.

Is there a remote control for it?

Hi C. No, Nguyen, there isn't a remote control. The following are the items in the box that were provided:

Sony and Amazon are two of the most powerful companies in the world
3/5

( so sad. This small boombox appealed to me at first. My husband gave it to me so that I could entertain my grandchildren with music. Once or twice a month, I'd use it. The CD player quit working after eight months. Maybe I have unrealistic expectations, but I believe a product should work at least 16 times. When I attempted to return the item, I was told that I would need the original box to do so. I'm not one of those people who keeps empty boxes for almost a year, so I'm stuck with a $60 piece of garbage. Amazon has let me down big time.

This isn't going to last longer than 5 months
3/5

This was bought for a blind woman who uses it to listen to audio books. This was purchased in the middle of October and is no longer functional. There are no options for returning. If you need more than five months of use, I would not recommend this.

It appeals to my senses
5/5

It's encouraging to see that cassette players are still in use. I purchased this player specifically because I believe this will not be the case for much longer. br>br>The engineering and design of this player appear to be quite good. The FM reception is excellent. As someone else pointed out, the antenna did not appear to be flimsy to me. br>br>I have no problems playing a cassette; the FF, Rewind, and Play buttons all work properly. It appears to be a good cassette player. A put on a standard CD (Sibelius Finlandia), which sounded fantastic. Sony's products have a pleasant sound. The first MP3 disk I tried was unreadable, but I believe this was due to the sampling rate I used for the files. Standard mp3 files should play without any problems, and the manual also explains the folder format needed to play these files. If you've been successful in playing mp3 files, please leave a follow-up comment. br>br>While the plastic housing feels cheap, it is well-made and attractive. The boombox is also quite light, which may be advantageous to some people. br>br>For the money, this is a respectable radio that benefits from Sony's expertise and reputation.

The old one has a lovely sound and is extremely long-lasting
3/5

This has a sluggish tone to it. It's impossible for me to believe. I paid $50 for it, but I had high expectations. It's been 13 years since we bought a Sony boombox, and the difference is astounding. The old one has a lovely sound and is extremely long-lasting. It's sturdy and has withstood four children and several moves. As a result, it has a few dents, but it's still functional. This new one, on the other hand, is so small and light that I'm afraid it'll break if I breathe on it. Because our old one appeared to be broken, I purchased this to replace it. It turned out that the problem was simply a faulty power cord. As a result, I was able to make a sound comparison between the two. This new one has such a squeaky tone to it. Underneath the sound, you can hear a continuous "whirr. " The music then has a small and unappealing sound. The sound does not improve when the volume is increased. Instead, it simply makes a loud, unpleasant noise. It doesn't help to turn on or off the "mega bass. " I thought I was imagining things at first because I was really excited about this stereo and expected it to sound just like the old one. So I experimented with a few different CDs to make sure I wasn't being too harsh. Then I put the same CDs in the old one, and wow, did it make a difference. It's got such a big, clear sound to it! It sounds great regardless of whether the volume is turned up or down, or whether the "mega bass" is turned on or off. This new one will be returned for a refund right away. I can't believe how bad things have gotten in the last few years. Sony should be able to produce a good CD player for less than $50. It's incredible. We'll keep the old boombox and replace the power cord with a new one.
