I posed the following question before purchasing:
Q: Is it compatible with a Magnavox CD, cassette, or stereo radio boombox? br>br>The majority of responses indicated that it was most likely- However, this is not the case. The spacing of the "prongs" does not correspond to that of the cord, so it will not fit. Fortunately, I did not lose a significant amount of money. br>br>Edited on August 28, 20: I was able to make this work by cutting a slot in the plug and forcing the spacing to match the boom box's (see photo). It's not a perfect solution, but it'll do for now.
This was purchased for a blind friend who wanted to listen to books on tape on a portable radio that I purchased on Amazon but didn't come with a cord. br>Someone must have returned it but kept the cord. br>I didn't check the box because she had gone to the hospital and then a rehab facility and wouldn't be using it for a while. br>The plug appears to be the correct fit but the pin holes are too close together for it to connect. br>If you need a replacement cord. WARNING: THE SIZING OF THE PIN AND PLUG IS VERY IMPORTANT. br>I guess I'll have to get rechargeable batteries for her radio, which is currently collecting dust.
This was a cord for a portable CD player that needed to be replaced. It was ideal because it saved me $35 on a new one and kept an electronic device out of the landfill.
The plug part did not even have the safety y ground holes like all us standard plugs do, and the cable should be stiff but it is like a rubber band, it flops like a noodle, so it was not a mistake, their false advertisement cost me $10 that they bought for about $1 a piece i found out on a Chinese website, the plug part did not even have the safety y ground holes like all us standard plugs do, and the cable should be stiff but it is like a So, if you're looking to spend your hard-earned cash on cables, look elsewhere. This is a sad situation.
However, after doing some research, I discovered that plugs are still allowed in the United States. without any flaws In newer outlets (post 1965), holes help keep the plug in place more tightly, but they aren't required for the electronic device to function. This replacement power cord worked perfectly with the CD player for which I purchased it. I just hope it fits in all of the outlets in the classrooms where I'll be using it (and doesn't fall out).
This was a fantastic solution. Those tapes and CDs can be listened to once more!.
This cable isn't up to snuff. When I turn on the radio, it appears to take longer than usual to turn on. This cord also causes the radio to turn off after a short time.
" The box functions with batteries, but not with the cord, which appears to be in good condition. The Sony model appears to be correct for the cord, which is perplexing! Returning the cord appears to be a waste of time.
