Questions & Answers

Is it possible to see embedded music data from other sources, such as a microSD card or Bluetooth?

That's correct!

Why have there been five price hikes in the space of two weeks?

Supply and demand dictate whether you wait for the price to drop or buy from a different source, as I did.

Is the cabinet made of real wood or is it painted to look like it's made of wood?

It appears to be faux paint. It looks and sounds great on the counter, but DON'T LET THE NON-WOOD FEATURE GET IN THE WAY.

What is the procedure for connecting to Pandora? Is this an app that comes pre-installed?

Other than internet radio and podcasts, you won't be able to listen to anything online. Bluetooth can be used as a workaround.

Selected User Reviews For Ocean Digital WiFi/FM Internet Radio, WR-800D with Dual Alarm Clock, Sleep Timer, 2.8" Color Display, Support UPnP & DLNA

FOR THE PRICE, THIS IS A GEM OF A RADIO! This radio is a true bargain, with easy access to thousands of Internet radio stations — which includes just about every good FM and AM station in the United States and the rest of the world — as well as countless internet-only stations
5/5

Broadcasters are the only ones allowed. It has an excellent FM radio, stereo speakers, a stylish brushed aluminum panel with a wood enclosure, and a helpful and friendly 2. At least two other Ocean radios have a similar 8-inch TFT display. br>PROsbr> br>Easy to set up, took less than two minutes. br> Picks up wifi signals from "distant" locations around the housebr> Skytune — the internet service that provides the stations — appears to be very good at keeping the streams in place. It has a wide range of stations to choose from. It is completely free to use. br> Stereo sound quality is excellent. While the bass isn't deep or rich, it's adequate for a radio that costs $100. This isn't a boombox, but it's loud enough for most people. br> br> br> br> br> br> br> panel controls, including three memories (many more memories can be accessed via the included remote or the dial control), as well as rotary volume and channel controls. knobs for selecting options br> A more functional remote adds a few extra features, such as quick access to the EQ setup for sound quality customization. br> A front-facing camera is a device that allows you to see what is going on in front of your eyes The built-in FM radio is much better and more sensitive than FM radios I've experienced with other internet radios, which I find very useful because you don't have to go fussing around the back or side of the unit looking for the jack. br> A telescoping whip antenna is included in the package. I was surprised by how sensitive the tuner and antenna were. br> While the internet channels can be programmed directly from the radio, it's much easier and more fun to go online and use the Skytune app, which, despite its early 2000s aesthetic, works well. Not only can you program channels, but you can rearrange them as well. (If you're programming, make sure the radio is turned on. ) )br> The back of the unit has line-out and auxiliary input jacks, as well as Bluetooth and microSD inputs, allowing you to feed your personal music collection, among other things, to the radio. br> It doesn't have batteries, but it doesn't lose its memory of wifi connections (or station memories) when the power goes out. br>CONsbr> I suppose I wish the music had a little more bass, but given the rest of the package, this isn't really a complaint. The audio remains rich, clear, and enjoyable. WR- WR- WR- WR- WR- WR- WR- WR- The 800D is the Big Daddy or Mother of the WR-series. The 210N, which is a very cool radio that was recently discontinued (I still have mine) and replaced by the fancier and probably better WR-210N, is a very cool radio that was recently discontinued (I still have mine) and replaced by the fancier and probably better WR-210N The 336N is $20 more expensive than the 210, but $15 cheaper than the 800. They have the same basic guts as each other, including the sweet 2. The 210 and 336 have a built-in battery for portability, while the 210 and 336 have a 4 color TFT display. There are no FM tuners on these radios.

It's a good radio station, but there are a few flaws
4/5

This is an excellent radio. Because the product description states that it has a LAN input, I'm not giving it a five. This is not the case. However, since the WiFi signal is strong, this isn't a major issue. br>The speakers on the radio are incredibly weak. It's fine for listening to talk radio on its own, but it's not very good for music. The sound is average when compared to a standard tabletop radio, but anemic when compared to a better boombox or a typical home stereo: No bass. If you have a decent home stereo, a cord with an 1/8" headphone plug on one end and a couple of RCA jacks on the other can be used to remedy this shortcoming. The sound is fantastic when combined with my amplifier and speakers. br>I never listen to commercial FM because the advertisements are so irritating, but internet radio is almost ad-free. free. It's all right. br>In the way I'm using it, it's more of a receiver component for internet radio than a radio. I'm aware that internet radio receivers for stereo systems are much more expensive, but I can't imagine needing anything more than what I have with this radio. It's just that it's not black and 17" wide. As a result, some people may find the aesthetic to be unappealing - I, on the other hand, am unconcerned about this.
Set- It was relatively simple to get up. Because I'm 60 and a technophobe, the owner's manual was a little confusing for me, but I was able to quickly add a couple of my favorite stations.

WR 800 D WR 800 D WR 800 D WR 800 D WR 800 D WR 800 RADIO IS AWESOME! We now own several Internet Radios (LogiTech, Grace Digital, and Ocean Digital), and we've honed our ability to assess them fairly
4/5

In its price range, the Ocean Digital WR 800 D is a great buy! Let's just say that it is highly recommended as a "BUY" of reasonable value, without going into too much detail about its capabilities and comparisons to other models and makes. So far (after a week of ownership), our only complaint is with the display. It works fine, but it's a little off-kilter. It's slightly out of square, or kilter. This has no effect on its functionality, but it is visually distracting. We won't return it for this reason alone because all of its other functions appear to be working properly, but we'll see how it holds up over time. br>We've noticed that the failure rate (and "dead-on-arrival") of these radios has increased over time. The "rate of arrival" is very high. We've returned Sangean, Logitech, and Grace Digital radios for a variety of reasons, and we consider it a blessing if the radio works as advertised, so a minor cosmetic flaw isn't a deal breaker! br>I hope this point of view proves useful to other buyers. Regards, Jim Clarke, Hilton, New York.
