The most effective commercial On the market, there is a high-quality streaming player
4/5

This is, without a doubt, the best industrial-scale project I've ever worked on. You'll find the best internet radio player/tuner if you look hard enough - With a few minor caveats, this thing is pretty solid. br>br>I bought this unit to use as background music in a restaurant. We plan to play a local FM station most days, but we'd like to be able to easily find specialty music on occasion (holidays, jazz brunch, etc. ). Personally, I'm a big fan of shoutcast streams, so full support for them was a must-have for the game. br>br>The item arrived quickly and was exactly what I had hoped for. a 1- U rack- An ethernet jack, FM and WiFi antennas, and a few audio input and output ports round out this wall-mountable player. It was a breeze to get everything set up - Connect to the internet via ethernet cable (do not use WiFi!). ) and audio-visual ( Turn on the RCA output (in this case). With the ethernet (DHCP enabled by default), I don't recall doing anything special. br>br>Once online, the unit is so simple to use that my waitstaff was up and running in minutes. When you select "Internet Radio," you'll see options for "Stations" and "Podcasts," from which you can browse by genre ("Holiday," "Jazz," etc. ) and then see a list of mysteriously-named stations. You can either browse by geography (North America - Highlighted Stations) or by population (Highlighted Stations). > US - > Washington, DC – > Within each genre, there is a stationlist. There is a simple solution. Use the search feature to find the station(s) you're looking for quickly. br>br>We wanted to hear from a musician who was based in the area. The included FM antenna is a joke, and the unit is in an equipment closet, so the FM tuner could not pick up ANY broadcasts. There's nothing to be concerned about. I went back to internet radio and looked for the call letters (in a small Mississippi town) and was ecstatic to find it in the pre-recorded message. My favorite shoutcast station wasn't listed, but adding new shoutcast stations is simple via the web interface. br>br>You can use the unit's web interface to set up multiple favorite station lists, which can then be used from the panel interface to quickly tune to stations you like. The device can handle almost any streaming format, and no special setup is required other than the stream URL. br>br>In terms of audio quality, the unit is excellent. I've never noticed any stuttering while listening to the music at 128k (most streams). I didn't see any options for fine-tuning things like buffering, but I didn't notice any underruns during my two months on-site. the location where the unit is being used br>br>There are a few drawbacks that prevent the unit from receiving a 5-star rating. Despite the fact that the majority of the issues are minor, they are given a star rating. The included FM antenna, for one, is a shambles. Two, I've had the unit stop outputting music once or twice (despite the main panel 100% responsiveness) - I discovered that the only way to fix it was to turn off all of the lights. cycle. Three, I couldn't figure out how to set it up to auto-update. When you reboot, you can watch a stream. Finally, I was unsuccessful in obtaining the Aux- I didn't have time to figure out if it was a cabling or configuration issue because I was working from my phone through the supplied 1/8" input port. Overall, I don't believe you'll be able to find a more suitable unit - It's pricey, but it's well worth the money. I didn't have time to go over all of the caveats in detail, but I give this unit a solid 5 out of 7 rating.

Although connected to the internet, there is no web interface available
3/5

It performs admirably in the manner described. My issue is that, despite being a network/internet device, there is no way to control or manage it over the network. Instead of using the front buttons and/or the remote, a web page where you could configure and manage it would be fantastic. br>br>It's a rack-type system. You can't mount the device in your equipment closet unless it has web-based management and control. It must be physically possible to access it. Very dissatisfied. br>br>.

I've never seen anything like it
5/5

I've tried a few different internet radios, and this is one of the best. It's simple to use, but make sure you read the CD manual first. It searches for millions of free radio and internet stations. Yes, even your neighborhood radio station. It comes with a variety of controls that make using it enjoyable. There is an app for that. to control and program the unit using an ipad or phone I have three of them: a bedroom, a kitchen, and a living room. The only thing that could cause problems is a faulty router signal. It is preferable to use 5g rather than 2. 5 g, but 5 g isn't as powerful as 10 g. If you're having signal problems, get a 5g antenna with a 9db gain on Amazon. I'd like to mention that the unit has a difficult time recovering signal packets. That is, if the signal is interrupted or the digital timing is off, the sound will become erratic. To get it back on track, turn off and on the standby. It's possible that they'll improve a fix. However, this is the best unit I've ever used. . . !.

It was a breeze to set up, the included app is fantastic, and the range of content from around the world is incredible. It's been a fantastic addition to my AV equipment. br>br>Although there were slightly more expensive options available, I'm glad I chose this device because it meets and exceeds my expectations.
