Furthermore, the sound quality is noticeably superior to the Sangean WFR- The Frontier Nuvola (formerly Frontier Silicon) menu structure is used on all 28 of them. In order to understand the options and features, buyers should READ THE MANUAL CAREFULLY. You're out of luck if you're looking for a simple device with no learning curve. GOOD: br>br>

- It has an FM tuner (which not all Internet radios have). The unit, however, is extremely vulnerable to electrical and possibly Wi-Fi interference. Interference with the cellular network. - Many (most?) FM stations in the United States are not found using the SEARCH function by call letters. You might be able to find a desired station on the Frontier Silicon lists by category in the menu. (Alternatively, you can log in to the Frontier Nuvola Smart Radio website, but the manual contains an incorrect URL. )
- On the radio, there are no dedicated FAVORITES buttons. The FAV button, on the other hand, can be pressed. You can easily fill the list with 10 favorites by carefully reading the instructions. This method is effective, but you must strictly adhere to the instructions.
- No ability to use the unit as a wireless speaker via Bluetooth, Chromecast, or other means; this will be a problem for those who listen to music on their phones or touchpads without using a cable.
- To get the most out of the radio, there is a steep learning curve. OVERALL: br>br> ***1/2. Excellent audio quality; Wireless protocols (BT, Chromecast, etc. ) are missing, limiting the unit's utility. I did not test Auna's Spotify Premium capabilities, which she now advertises, and the SEARCH function frequently fails. With technology from 2004, this unit is quite nice. If you buy this or any other Internet radio that doesn't have Bluetooth or Chromecast, you'd better hope that the underlying service provider, in this case Frontier Nuvola, survives. Frontier Nuvola has a website that is s- w, but it aids in the discovery of stations, as well as the addition and management of favorites that can be shared across multiple radios throughout the house.

Two of these radios were purchased a little more than two years ago. They were a total success. My wife purchased a third less than a year ago on my recommendation. It worked flawlessly as well. Before April 2020, that was the case. Then, seemingly at random, all three radios stopped working, as if they were all set to stop working in April 2020. They're only good for one thing now: bringing up the auna logo. br>br>My wifi system is in perfect working order. I have download speeds of over 100 Mbps throughout my home. br>br>We still have an old Bose internet radio that works perfectly. I'd like to replace the aunas with something better. They'll be tossed in the trash as soon as possible.

I was looking for an internet radio because I was dissatisfied with my bluetooth speaker and I was constantly listening to Spotify. I had no idea what to expect when I first turned it on, but it completely blew me away the moment I started playing music on it. The sound is incredibly rich, and the subwoofer adds some excellent bass. You know how some speakers have too much bass and drown out the music, or too little bass and don't add anything to the music? This one is ideal for the middle of the pack. I was worried that if I turned it up too loud, the quality would suffer, but it sounded just as good either way. br>br>The set-up is as follows: br>br> It was also very easy to set up - It took me only a few minutes to complete.

It's a really cool device with a lot of cool features and great audio. It does, however, have a major flaw. This device's alarm isn't very user-friendly. When you're trying to snooze, it's far too easy to accidentally turn off the light. That is a flaw in the design, but the real flaw is the lack of a battery backup. When the power goes out in your home, the unit shuts down. That means it's completely useless as an alarm clock, because who can afford to rely on a device that won't work in the event of a power outage? Similarly, if your internet connection goes down and your alarm is set to play internet radio or Spotify, you're out of luck because it won't switch to FM radio or a buzzer. Silence is all that plays. br>br>In summary, if this isn't going to be your primary alarm, I recommend purchasing it because it sounds great and offers a wide range of listening options. If you require an alarm clock, find something else because this device is a disaster waiting to happen.

However, it was not quite right for what I required. My younger brother was recently diagnosed with a form of dementia that causes a variety of problems in his day-to-day life. Music can be beneficial for people like him, according to his wife's research. The question evolved into this: What device could we use to allow my brother to pick and choose what he wants to listen to? Although Echo/Alexa was present, he was unable to deliver the simple voice command required by Alexa. My hope was that I could program this radio to play the streaming music he enjoyed. br>br>After a few hours of work with it, it was clear that it could and would do a fantastic job. The issue was that it was just difficult enough that I doubt he could have used it easily, so it was returned. This is the streaming device I'd choose if I needed one - Rather than using my iPhone, computer, or iPad, I prefer to use my computer or iPad. This radio appeared to be the best option, but he found it to be a little too difficult to operate. The build quality and functionality were both excellent. br>br> The sound was also excellent. It easily connected to my WiFi network, and if it had been for me, it would have been ideal, but it was a little too complicated for my brother. Nonetheless, I wholeheartedly endorse it.
